@Ragman,
I like that too. Respect for the game.

I have a feeling the Celtics are going to be much more up to the challenge today.

@kickycan,
I'm tuning in tonight, though it's a botheration that I have to flip back and forth between Celtics and Flyers.

yup...and with the passing of Wooden, class and respect for the game and competition is being highlighted by sports talkers.

I predict that Celts are going to win a close one in the end tonight. I know this is wishful thinking as a fan. I'll be interested to see if they start Rasheed Wallace in place of Garnett tonight and then bring him in later to avoid foul trouble for Garnett. Then they'll have him ready in the closing role.

@Ragman,
You're a genius Ragman!!

Celtics 103 - Lakers 94!!

The series is gloriously tied 1 - 1. Now the Celtics have the home court advantage!

@tsarstepan,
Thanks. This series shapes up nicely. Networks feel it's good for the ratings, too.
Coincidence, of course!

@Ragman,

much more betterah!
please don't tell ray-ray he's gonna be 35 next month.
what a display of marksmanship.
rondo (trip-dub) came back strong after the 4th quarter breather.
garnett is still off -- there might be an injury they're trying to keep under wraps...

@Region Philbis,
Yeah, it was hard to tell when there were camera closeups on Garnett if he was tired and sucking wind or that he was in pain. I think it was more the former. Let's just say Garnett was studying them from the best spectator seat in the stadium.

As for Ray....was there ever anything sweeter than watching his eight 3-pointers go swish through the basket without touching the rim and barely making the strings move?

The problem here is Celts can get away with this Garnott-light for a game maybe two..at most, then the real Garentt has to step out from the shadows. Lakers have too many weapons offensively to tolerate the non-presence of Garnett and the other 'biggies'.

@Ragman,

expect pierce to play better @ home...

one rule change i'd like to see --
for the playoffs, get rid of the 6 personal fouls = game disqualification rule.
the fans deserve to see the best players on the floor.
penalize the fouling team by giving the other team extra free throws.
something like this...

player gets 3 fouls in 1st half -- opponent gets new 24 second possession
player gets 4 fouls in 1st half -- opponent gets 2 FT's*
players gets 5th foul in either half -- opponent gets 2 FT's + possession*
players gets 6th foul in either half -- opponent gets 4 FT's + possession*

* if it's a foul in the act of shooting, tack on 2 more FT's

@Ragman,

big baby -- roaring & foaming at the mouth!
nate was great, but was read the riot act by teammates after getting that taunting T.
whooda thunk pierce, garnett & rondo would sit that long in the 4th quarter??
bynum's knee and sheed's back are the keys to game 5...

i am re-psyched.
after game 3, was starting to formulate the thought that i should just be happy the C's have gotten this far,
that they are up against a team on a mission, blah-blah-blah...

scratch that Mr. Green -- it's best of 3, with no clear-cut favorite!

Nate Quote, "We're like Shrek and Donkey."

That pix (and associated video) you inserted have to be the most fun and drama in a Final series in ages. And that was their BENCH!

Big Baby is a freak. That was a great game though. We got us a series, boys! Can't wait until Sunday. That should be a real ass-whooping.

Lakers in seven!

@kickycan,
Was Big Baby having a 'Roid Rage' moment or was that my imagination? Something about that shriek and his not knowing that Nate was on his back.

The comment about them being Shrek and Donkey was a TV sports talker's delight.
