@Region Philbis,
Seeing the steroid bogey-man under every rock. Baseball has more than 50% usage, by one former MLB pitcher's report. Sure hope none of our Celts use PED, but it makes you wonder.

@Ragman,

baseball allegedly had more than 50% usage before the current testing policy was enforced.
the percentage now should be close to zero.

haven't heard much about the effectiveness of basketball's PED policy.
rashard lewis tested positive last summer and was banned for 10 games.
more info here...

@George,
I agree. I perceive Doc Rivers now on a level-playing field with Jackson. My respect for him has grown immensely..and that is regardless of how this series turns out.

The drama now is heightened.
I think things look good for Celts...but..I would NEVAH bet on the outcome.

Bynum is their key and if he can't play effectively in 2nd half of the game, Lakers have no answer to Celt's biggies without a useful Bynum. If Celts can continue isolating Kobe to being a perimeter-shooter and keep him out of the paint..it looks VERY good for the hometown homies. Gasol and Kobe were plum-tuckered out at 4th quarter ...Celts ran them into the ground.

Only dark cloud I see..is if Kobe is saving his knees and penetration into the paint for games 6 or game 7..when he HAS to give it his all. then he could take over the game...and not have to have the under-sized Fisher carry the flow of the game at crucial last half of the game 6 or 7.

Laker's in a full time out with 2:55 remaining. Celtics up by 12 points and Garnett is to shoot 2 free throws.

@tsarstepan,
35.2 Lakers timeout after great Rondo layup to put the Celtics up by 7.

@tsarstepan,
8.2 seconds left. Lakers with full time out.
Celtics up by 6 points.

No fouling and yet they must stop Kobe from the 3 pointer.

@tsarstepan,

Mr. Green

great D -- they made the kobester work for those 38 pts!
the other 4 could only watch as he went into his solo act in the 3rd quarter.
can't believe coach jackson approved of that strategy in his post-game comments.
one guy taking every shot is not the way to play a team game...

the C's starting 5 were awesome.
they made stops, got rebounds, ran the offense.
didn't need the bench to bail them out...

i think the C's have to wrap it up tomorrow night.
play another one like it's your last...

Mr. Green

@Region Philbis,
Yep. The Celtics need to play game 6 as if they were defending the world from the oncoming Apocalypse!

@tsarstepan,
The Defense was some of the best defense I've seen in years. Gasol was almost shut out in the first half. I think that no one else besides Kobe was in double figures by game's end.

Offensively I saw a play (long pass and catch on the fly) that Pierce and Rondo made that made my jaw drop. Rondo (again) made some of the prettiest toward-the-basket moves and scores that I've ever seen in basketball. Rondo, Garnett, and Pierce got themselves free consistently and got Lakers get out of position.

Celts look as confident as I've seen. Can this be it?

@Ragman,

the playoff march has been nothing short of amazing when you factor in the oft-times lackluster play during the regular season.
elevating their game when it counts ain't as easy as they're making it look...

Hate to rain on your little clubhouse but the Celts have peaked; they're outta gas and the Lakers don't play well 'til they're up against the wall. The NBA has the fix in for 7 games etc etc

Out of gas? ! Bwahahahaha! Let's say we can assume that you're serious and not trolling, where did you see anyone on Celtics out of gas? Celts super-subs are still scoring and being used twice as long, while still increasing their lead.

You're good. We go way back...(chuckles).

I truly wonder how Lakers will pull this one out. After all the networks stand to gain millions for a 7-game-series.
