Well, if that doesn't clear it up for you, MsO, I can't imagine what will. And this, supposedly, after his rest.

@OmSigDAVID,
Dave, your head is a garbage can.

But really, I could care less, save for those times when you spew nonsense about language.

@JPB,
Thanks, but that doesn't change the point, which concerns the complete thread deletion - if the 3rd poster was really engaged in advertising, then a notice to the effect "we do not permit advertising linking to posters' sites" should have been left in lieu of the the post. Deleting an entire thread with perfectly legitimate questions and valid, well-researched replies is contrary to the entire stated purpose of this site.

For the record, I am most grateful to 2 moderators. First and foremost, my late friend Timberlandko, whose phone number I had and whom I could call on the rare occasions someone had posted my name by mistake on a thread - not a common occurrence, and since I know all the posters involved very well I'm entirely certain they were just being absent-minded. Second, the good person who was on duty on Ms Olga's anti-whaling thread (the starting point here), late at night in most US time zones, who did acted promptly on my request to remove erroneous duplicates of my posts:
http://able2know.org/topic/109975-37#post-3926526

Whoever that person is, he/she was already thanked by Ms Olga (on page linked) to which I'd like to add my own sincere thanks as well.

P.S. to Jespah: In either case, the moderator intervention - according to you, nonexistent - is unjustifiable, heavy-handed at best, and extremely annoying to both the bona fide poster with the original query as well as to the member who bothered to research and post the correct answer.

The moderators have a long-established policy of not discussing their moderation practices in front of the community. But in my experience, you usually get a reasonable answer from them when you submit complaints like this....

Yes, thank you, as you see I've already expressed thanks to individual moderators who assisted with assorted corrections.

I'm thinking I could do some posting here and change all that.

I wish you would - obviously all the A2K moderators are off for the weekend, and a sudden shock from your postings might bring them back SmileSmileSmile

So far I have learnt from this thread that if you are a regular AND are liked you are bullet proof. If you are one of the following....not liked, newbee, are politically incorrect, have the gall to disagree...then you can (probably will) be labeled a troll. Yet within the regulars you have your bully-boys...cowards with pathetic egos to match...but to people like msolga, they cant do wrong.

If all you want to do is fluff up each others egos, why dont you use email ? If you put it out there for the world to see (a very small world reads this stuff) then be prepared for a contest.

I viewed one thread started by a racist and everyone and their dog went over (trolling ? ) to bully them. This reinforces the behaviour of the racist. You have demonstrated that his behaviour is acceptable. You only disagree on who it should be done to....It could have been an opportunity to attempt reason against violence but you clowns took it as an opportunity to sneer. For a pack of self proclaimed experts, you achieved nothing but self-serving ego-inflating noise.

The fact is that each of us - and not just Ms Olga, who's basically the only innocent around here - has his own set of trolls. Joe explained this to Ms Olga on page 10 of this thread http://able2know.org/topic/143018-10#post-3941220 and incidentally included the example of a paranoid pest who freaked out after he (or she) imagined reading something subsequently proven to be wrong. The pest was added to my ignore list and that was the end of that.

I've never felt "bullied" on this forum and I'm surprised you have - you just don't strike me as the "sensitive little flower" kind! The existence of assorted creepy crawlies following posters around downgrading posts is undeniable but irrelevant to content - you can still post anything you like, right? There are many threads I just don't follow, but on the ones I do I've seen your posts and found them interesting, so I hope you stick around.

i'm a regular and i guess i'm liked, but i'm sure not bullet proof, just this morning i hit y thumb with a hammer and boy did it hurt, so i'm not gonna try standing in front of a bullet (much to the chagrin of a few i'm sure)

(Certainly on the Internet) whether one is successfully "bullied" or not
is in the victim's own hands. The key is in counter-stomping the offenders,
asserting one 's own point of vu.

It works for me.

You might want to refresh your understanding of the words lucid and fact filled.
