when you say "my goldfish IS fat" it sounds like you only have one. It generally takes at least two.

Why do you want help if it is the fish that might be pregnant ? Has it been sneaking out the window at night time ?

It is unusual for a fish to starve to death, but it is common for them to be overfed. Imagine three mouthfuls of food (for the fish, not you). That should be plenty each day. If it doesnt loose weight, take it down to two, then one. Fish are only happy when they are searching for food. Unfortunately, they will eat what they find, so make sure they dont find much. Plants also help, in that if they cant find food they will eat the plants though you can buy some plants they dont like as much.
