Has "software applications" been used here properly?

Context:
Okay, I'm seeking the site where you can open and watch TV programmes without having to install internet TV-watching software applications. I've found one in China. Here it is: http://fzlm.com/

Check it out yourself. It is a pity that all names of TV stations are in Chinese language. I hope that you'll not be bothered with them.

But I'm not satisfied by it. If you know any such site in your country, especially in US, UK, Cananda...etc, please let me know.
