When I experimented with Nichiren Buddhism, I got accused of harboring "devil" services. If it ain't in King James's Bible, it is wickedness.

But there is no hell ci. It's just an exaggerated expression for "we don't like you". It's only people such as yourself who believe in the idea.

@snood,
I'll pipe in here, only about my own experience, which of course is always local.

I think there is flow back and forth. But I'm not in Texas.

@spendius,
spendi, The "hell" is rhetorical; it can mean anything god used in the past to make humans suffer - like the world flood. You know that god is capable of doing anything, right? He must also have a very good imagination on how to make mankind suffer - for eternity.

@cicerone imposter,
Nah--it's you who needs hell ci. If people believed in hell they would spend their whole lives "being virtuous". 80 years of hair shirts is **** all compared to eternity in a white hot tube as Dante had one lot of sinners.

@spendius,
Spendius Do you think that we could be good friends when we both end up in hell?
I think that would be hot! What do you think?
I will pray for it!

This is a cheap shot, in a sense, but this sort of thing really creeps me out. Religious nuts beat atheist nuts hands down.

Jacobs: Birds Are Dying Because of DADT Repeal
By KYLE - RIGHT WING WATCH

Over the weekend, Cindy Jacobs of Generals International posted a new video prompted by the fact that, as a prophet, people have been asking her about the meaning behind the recent rash of bird deaths ... to which she replied that it might be due to the fact that America is violating God's prohibition on homosexuality with support for gay marriage and the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell:

every time an atheist denounces God, a puppy dies.

@edgarblythe,
It's OK EB, atheists never denounce God - you can't denounce anything without acknowledging its existence. Pedantics Rule!

@panzade,
I think it depends on where you live, in what culture.
I'm just fine in Albuquerque.
On the other hand, I've not talked religion/lack of it with my immediate neighbors - not from avoidance, but that our talks aren't all that deep on any issues.

What does this mean? In this neighborhood, I see a live and let live attitude.

Re a previous post where I said essentially that things are always local - I've lived in other than Albuquerque, and this particular set of streets.
