I know that I don't much care about your commentary in regard to the experience of being an atheist.

ok - I think everyone who remembers the MA period knows how you behaved. I had hoped it would be something you would reflect upon, and regret.

this was a great program presented on the CBC lately

http://www.munkdebates.com/home.aspx

Christopher Hitchens v Tony Blair

Quote:
In a world of globalization and rapid social change does religion provide the common values and ethical foundations that diverse societies need to thrive in the 21st century? Or, do deeply held religious beliefs promote intolerance, exacerbate ethnic divisions, and impede social progress in developing and developed nations alike? To encourage a far-ranging discussion on one of human kind’s most vexing questions, the 6th semi-annual Munk Debate will tackle the resolution: be it resolved, religion is a force for good in the world.

I'm still trying to find a link to the podcast.

The question was broader than that . . . the point is that you continue to haunt a thread in which the only interest you've ever shown is to complain about what other people here post.

@Setanta,
Putting aside your obviously slanted choice of words, Setanta, what would the rationale be that might exclude any person from debating any point raised by anyone?

Is the title of this thread, The Atheist Echo Chamber?

Is that a requirement or just how things have worked out? Is provision made for women senators?

Hope you saved a "tsk, tsk" or two for Setanta's behavior during that period. But if he's browbeaten you into denial of his nastiness, its understandable.

Intrepid doesn't need to bow to you upon entering this or any thread, nor does anyone else. You don't run anything here but your cyber-mouth.

Hello?

This thread is for those of us who are atheists to talk.

Remonstrating any of us trying to do that is, like, dumb.

Then start your own website where you can feel safe and warm tucked into your little cocoon, Osso.

Saying something this dumb is dumb.

As Snood said, no one needs to ask your permission to come into this thread, nor do they need your permission to take you to task for what you say. If you don't want that to happen, then don't say anything, Osso.

What ever happened to America the free? Is freedom curtailed when one or the other doesn't like it? Maybe Robert should provide a private area where people can have a secret society that keeps everyone else out. Until that time, freedom WILL prevail.

@Intrepid,
Please, this has for moments at a time been a thread for the people it was directed to.

I know you are not a thread walloper, Intrepid. But between all a' yous, and the defensive re the atheists, the quiet and interesting thread has been fucked over, likely for multiply more pages than the original premise.

It's like trying to talk when in the middle of a pastrami sandwich, for those of us interested in trying to talk quietly. Cole slaw all over the place. Was this somehow cute?

Or through thick static.
