Just their pride, thank heavens...though that has to REALLY hurt.

Standings after Day 12 (Feb 22):

1) tgordon92 218
2) McGentrix 214
3) George 213
4) fbaezer 197
5) Seed 190
6) realjohnboy 177
7) tsarstepan 173
8) ehBeth 171
8) ossobuco 171
10) lmur 166
11) jespah 160
12) alex240101 150
13) rhyss 149
14) engineer 145
15) djjd62 142

My Austrian ski jumpers beat out assorted Russians and Americans to give me a slight lead, but it's still a remarkably tight race among the top three. It's also still a big jump to fourth, which is due primarily to fbaezer's decision to pick the Finns, as he pointed out. Meanwhile, the double gold in ice dancing for djd62 was not quite enough to pull him out of last place.

@tgordon92,
My performance mirrors Irish participation in these events. A Personal Best but nowhere near the medals.

I hired some Switzers to take care of that, but the state of crossbow
marksmanship in Switzerland has sadly declined.

Still a tight race among the top three, with everyone else not able to make up much ground toward reaching the podium. But the big story is a perfect storm of Russian, Swiss, French, and Dutch success catapaulting djd62 from five bronzes to four!

@fbaezer,
There is an Irish interest in the women's bobsleigh event, which is taking place right now, I believe. Originally, twenty countries were scheduled to participate; with Ireland having qualified in 20th place. About two weeks ago, Australia (in 21st position) objected on the basis that there was no Oceania representation in the event and their objection was sustained. Cue national indignation - first Thiery Henry and now this! (Fbaezer will know of what I speak). Common sense did eventually prevail and our girls have been added to the list of participants. Just finish ahead of those dastardly Oceaniacs, that's all we ask.

All of which led to the chosen name for my fantasy team - Ozzie Nob-Slayers.
