McGentrix adds another laurel to his fantasy sports record (we all fear him in Yahoo!).
George is the one and only A2Ker with 2 fantasy winter olympic medals (he got bronze in Turin).
tgordon92 has become a fantasy olympic legend, he can now boast golds at both summer and winter A2K fantasy olympics... we know now who's the one to beat in London 2012!
@fbaezer,
man I was hanging in there for so long!
Terrific, thank you everybody, especially TGordon and Fbaezer, two champs whatever their medals.

Thanks, tgordon92, for keeping the stats. It was a lot of fun for us here who, quite frankly, don't normally follow the Olympics.
And thanks to Fbaezer for setting this up.
what johnboy said. Don't think I can add to that.
Fantasy Olympic Victory Ceremony
Bronze medal, from the United States of America,
McGentrix!
Silver medal, from the United States of America
George!
Gold medal, and Fantasy Olympic Champion, also from the United States
tgordon92!
@fbaezer,
Congrats to tgordon, George and McG. Thanks to TG and FB for creating and maintaining the event.
And to Prince Hubertus of Hohenlohe-Langenburg for keeping the Olympic spirit alive.

One hundred days until London 2012. Who's ready for some Fantasy Olympics?
@tgordon92,
I'll play if someone will set it up.
@tgordon92,
tgordon92 - looks like you just volunteered to set this up!
@ehBeth,
If you will set it up, tgordon, I will be happy to troll for players. I am good at that.
I will possibly be in London at the time. If so, I can't host the fantasy game. If not, I'd be glad to do it again.
I may be able to run the pool this year, if I can find the tracking spreadsheet from 2010 and the revised country groupings for 2012 that fbaezer created at the end of the 2008 Games. However, two caveats apply:
1) I'm not on A2K often, just for the Olympics, so someone else should kick off a new thread and introduce the 2012 Fantasy Olympics and look for participants.
2) I'm getting married on August 18, so three weeks before that may not find me as available as others would be for running the pool. If there's anyone who's more available, it might be better if they ran things.
(Also, there's caveat three, which is that if I win again while running the pool, folks will think the fix is in!)
@tgordon92,
tgordon:
Re #1: I can do that once the game is set up. I have experience trolling for players (football/baseball for a number of years).
Re #2: Once set up on Yahoo, I don't suspect there much else needed in terms of maintenance.
(Is fbaezer going to there covering the games for the Mexican press?)
OK.
I can host the thread, while RJB does the nagging. This also means setting the rules. I can do the research to make the groupings by country-gender.
What I don't know is if I can keep track and score. Actually I not very good at it.
I can send a spreadsheet made for the game to either tgordon92 or realjohnboy, so either of them do the scorekeeping, certainly better than myself.

I am going to London and Cambridge next month (going to be a grandfather for the first time! ) and POSSIBLY will also be in London for the Olympics (it all depends on SKY paying my travel and expenses, of which I'm not sure, since I depend on a third person and prices are dear, as the Brits say).
@fbaezer,
Cool. If you can set up the rules, I can probably sell it. As I remember it from 2010, countries were divided into tiers. Players had to choose only 0ne or two teams from the top tier plus others from the 2nd tier and the rest from other countries.
My Rolodex is full of names of people who could help with scoring. They may not know that I have their name but I do.
@realjohnboy,
It looks like fbaezer set up most of the tiers for 2012 here:
http://able2know.org/topic/119788-26#post-3373042. As I said before, I may not be the most reliable person for scoring this year, but I could do it if no one else is able.
