Live in the UK?

There are treatments out there that could have cured Lilia. If the doctor had recognised her symptoms when they first appeared, maybe she'd be with us still.
Kids with neuroblastoma have a 30-40% chance of survival. There is no governemnt funding in trying to raise awareness or even to find more treatment.

It's not acceptable that each year 2,300 children die from cancer.
For children, by the time of diagnosis 80% of cases have spread, dramatically reducing chance of survival, compared to 20% with adults. Why? Because GP's just don't consider cancer as a diagnoses until it jumps up painted blue wearing simpsons underwear swinging a sock filled with jelly around the clinic.

1 in every 330 children with be diagnosed with cancer before they are 15 years old.
A quarter of these kids will die within 5 years.
Would it be acceptable if it were your kid? Your sibling? Your cousin?

If you live in the UK right now (and i'm sure you can do it in your country if you don't... except maybe China... you can't do much in China....) will you sign this petition?

Quote:
The incidence of Child & Teenage Cancer is increasing. 1 in 330 children will develop Cancer before they are 15; 2,400 Teenagers are diagnosed with Cancer in the UK each year. A group of parents whose children have Cancer or whose children have lost their fight are trying to raise awareness of the signs & symptoms of Cancers that affect children. We have set up a Child Cancer Awareness Campaign for 2010. We need the Govt to get behind this campaign to ensure that every parent is made aware of the Cancers that affect Children and Teenagers. We are also asking Government to contact all GP’s in the UK to re-emphasise the details for Child Cancer referrals contained in the NICE guidelines (reference Page 42 onwards). These guidelines are invaluable towards getting an Earlier Diagnosis + Earlier Treatment which will save more lives. The Awareness Campaign will also raise funds to help to pay for treatment for UK children with cancer abroad as not all treatment for Child Cancer is available in the UK. We ask the Govt to bring these treatments to the UK by providing access to the 3f8 antibody along with installation of proton machines in some of our hospitals.

@panzade,
There are parts of Britain that have higher pediatric cancer figures. They reckon that middle class kids are more likely to get it and those in rural area's because they don't build up enough immunity when their little. If you send your kids to nursery, apparently that cuts the risk a load as well. But they get headlice. A lot of headlice. Confused
