I'm 15 and i was adopted when i was 3 days old. i don't know my dad either. i know my real mom though. i want a dad too cuz the one i ended up with is abusive. and I'm an only child

I'm sorry to hear that, emshae. Sometimes we get dealt a crappy hand in life. Is your father so abusive you would prefer to live elsewhere? That might be possible. If you think you can continue to put up with him for a few more years, I would suggest you study hard and prepare for an independent life in which you can chose to deal with him or "divorce" him. The best thing that can come out of this is that you are learning how not to be a parent. I'm sure you will not make the same mistakes if you chose to have a kid.

Emshae, then keep out of his way and bide your time by preparing for your own life. Start by doing some work to save money - babysitting, lawncare, helping old people around their house, sell stuff on Craigslist, camp counselor (that might even get you away from home), grocery packer, etc. Having some money in the bank is like freedom insurance.
