@BorisKitten,
Yes, he does (oooh, I get to argue with Boris). I learned early on that caps are considered yelling on internet forums. Our culture on a2k is a tad finicky about this and other matters such as text typography, and, what David uses, phonetic spelling, although David and a lot of us get along. We don't care anywhere near as much about typos or misspelling, as typos/unruly spelling and sharp observation can happen at the same time and often do.

But that's the communal culture now, today. It may change.

@DrewDad,
Never wear one myself (although I own several, picked up as souvenirs mostly). I do wear a western-style 10-gallon type hat when it's raining. Beats carrying umbrellas.

I have been challenged and held to account
if I misspell a word on a non-fonetic basis
(which, in good faith, I try to avoid, but
there IS the occasional typo discovered after editing time has expired).

Before I went fonetic, I was a fairly decent paradigmatic speller,
about 98% of the time. I used to correct my legal secretaries' typing,
when we still used typewriters.

It is amazing how few people in this thread have understood what DD means by "caps." Additionally, it's referential to another thread by a classic loony visitor to the site whom is suspect we will see very little of in future.

@Setanta,
I believe that any digressions regarding garments for one's head were entirely deliberate.
