Our culture on a2k is a tad finicky about this and other matters such as text typography, and, what David uses, phonetic spelling, although David and a lot of us get along. We don't care anywhere near as much about typos or misspelling, as typos/unruly spelling and sharp observation can happen at the same time and often do.
But that's the communal culture now, today. It may change.
I
have been
challenged and
held to account
if I misspell a word on a non-fonetic basis
(which, in good faith, I try to avoid, but
there
IS the occasional typo discovered after editing time has expired).
Before I went fonetic, I was a fairly decent paradigmatic speller,
about 98% of the time. I used to correct my legal secretaries' typing,
when we still used typewriters.
