@neologist,
As far as I'm aware, a keg size can vary. Just checking on wiki and it confirms that it is not a standard measure.
The measures I previously listed are based on old British weights and measures, and will obviously differ if US measures are put into the frame, as I understand that a US pint is smaller than a British pint, but maybe someone could expand on that. (Cooking curry at the moment so am experiencing serious distraction).

@tsarstepan,
As far as I am concerned, this strong beer has what must be the best name of 2013.

I give you........

Brewdog Tactical Nuclear Penguin.

@Lordyaswas,
But as far as cosumption of the brown stuff is concerned, I am becoming a firm fan of Hobgoblin (mentioned on previous pages somewhere) for two reasons:
1. The flavour. Excellent dark beer for a winter slurp.
2. The price. Owing to Halloween, this has been promoted in Brit supermarkets for a few weeks, and is currently being sold at £1 a pint.
My cupboard is now bulging.

Hic......

@tsarstepan,
Advertised by well posh people, with more than a nod to Enid Blyton via the comic strip.

Thanks for hopping in, Tico, Yes, it is hoppy. And the generous c2h5oh infusion helps as well.

@Ticomaya,
My father's father once had a hop farm, from what I can tell only a short time, land north of San Francisco, probably in the oughts of the nineteen hundreds.

@artisinha786,
It also benefits from a huge advertising budget. That's the reason for its popularity, because it's a pretty lousy beer.
