@Butrflynet,
My prayers and good wishes go out to BBB also.
She sent me a nice e-mail after you moved to NM, and I still have it.

I hope that she and you are doing well, and know that Stacy and I will pray for her.

Lady Diane just got off the phone with BBB, she is getting (or has gotten) the Heparin and has started on Coumadin, she is expected to go home as soon as the blood levels are theraputic ( a few days)

@Butrflynet,
Taking a break from the hospital and am back home for a couple hours. The doctor says the blood clots in her leg have stabilized and the blood thinners are beginning to do their job of dissolving the clots. She's still in a lot of pain from the clot in her lungs and still on the morphine. Doc says she needs to keep moving and get more active in spite of her osteoarthritis aches. I told him that was easier said than done, that she'll only do it if someone she can't intimidate makes her do it.

They had PT come in and do an evaluation and then had her get up and do a lap around the ICU nurse's unit. She did well and he gave her some isometric leg exercises to do while in bed to try and keep the leg blood circulating without also irritating the hip joint.

The wound clinic came in and took a look at her bed sores. The skin ruptures are healing but it is still very red. I was worried that she might get some excessive bleeding there from the blood thinners. They're keeping an eye on that too.

She's not in a very good mood - grumpy, loopy from the meds, tired of being in pain and scared to death that she might have a stroke and lose her brain function.

Farmerman, they started her out at a level 7.40 on the coumadin. Don't know if that means anything. They're also giving her injections of something that starts with an L - might be lumonox or something that sounds like that.

Shewolf, please don't spend money sending anything - I think she'd much more appreciate a phone call from you once she's home. You'll be able to lift her spirits a bit with that.

Thanks for the ohmming and concern. I'm okay. Had to go to the neighbors and ask them to drive me to the local clinic so I could retrieve BBB's car. I was okay until she asked how I was doing and then I started crying. Been trying not to let BBB see how scared I was for her. After some hugs from the neighbor I'm better and, now that it is out of my system, I can go back to being the stoic tough girl for my mom.

I'm going to take a nap and then go back to the hospital. Will update again this evening if there's any change.

@Butrflynet,
Carrying on ommmmmmmmmmmming this Sunday afternoon in Oz.

Thank you for the update, Butrflynet.
Good to hear that the blood clots in BBB's legs have stabilized & the blood thinners are starting to do their job.
Sorry to hear of the pain BBB is experiencing. I'm not at all surprised it's making her grumpy!

Thinking of you, Butterfly. A very worrying & demanding time for you, obviously. I hope you are resting, sleeping up a storm as I type this! Smile

@Butrflynet,
Hey Burtfly - hoping you managed to get some rest and that you are taking care of yourself too.

Sunday Ohmmmmmmmmmmmms and healing wishes to BBB - please let us know how she is today. Hopefully the PT's can keep her moving - they can be inhumanly persistent Shocked - but thats a good thing if it keeps her moving.

Thoughts and wishes for you both. xx
