Clinton 's Health?

Reply Mon 7 Dec, 2009 04:04 am
I saw a headline alleging that Clinton 's health is poor
and that he allegedly only has a few months to live.

The source has little credibility.
Has there been any credible news about this? just wondering

@OmSigDAVID,
Oh no! I hope that's not true. I haven't read anything. Where was this headline?

@Region Philbis,
I'm talking about Bill. Is that who you're talking about David?

I'd be sad to lose George too though. Bootsies too young to die...

George Clinton died in 1812.
I saw a picture of Bill Clinton, alleging that he was near death.

I was wondering whether there was any truth to that.

That must be another George Clinton. I'm talking about the George Clinton who fronts Parliament (the funk band).
I assumed that's who Region was referring to - although he may have been referencing your George Clinton - although that's doubtful if he's been dead since 1812.

If you see or find any other news - I'd be interested. I don't know why, and I know you don't like Clinton, politics aside, I've always sort of liked him. He seems like a smart and caring person (with some obvious flaws - but then we all have those don't we?)

I would be truly sad to hear he's terminally ill.

@OmSigDAVID,
hmm, found this from 25 September 2008

Clinton, McCain, Biden Dying Of Mystery Illnesses

Barack Obama is a space monster sent to kill us all. Every white male in politics over the age of 50 has some awful illness, according to various rumors on the Internet. Joe Biden had two aneurysms operated on 20 years ago, so obviously he is due for another so that he can step down and Hillary Clinton can be Barack Obama’s vice president. Meanwhile, Bill Clinton’s thumb was shaking on various evening talk shows this week, so he’s about dead. Probably Parkinson’s.

And then John McCain…well, we all know he’s just a reanimated corpse anyhow, and his left eye is falling out of his face or something, which is why he had to hire that $5,000 makeup artist, to keep pasting bits of skin back onto his skull.

The lesson: Barack Obama is poisoning all of these fuckers. George Bush, you’re on notice.

I saw it 2 days ago.
(Admittedly, I did not see its date; maybe it was from 2005.)

Laughing Laughing Laughing - and I thought I was a space cadet!!
I did find something about how tired and pasty he looked when he was interviewed by Charlie Rose - he kept putting his head in his hands apparently - but this was during his wife's campaign...so he's survived that bout of illness by at least a year.

The former President has been on statins for quite some time. Statins are well known to cause myopathy (pain/weakness) and rhabdomyolosis (breakdown of muscle or muscle-wasting disease) as well as progressive liver disease and depletion of Coenzyme Q10.

Bill Clinton: I've been tested, I don't have Parkinson's disease
Posted: March 11th, 2009 06:58 PM ET

From CNN Associate Producer Martina Stewart

(CNN) " Former President Bill Clinton got personal in a wide-ranging interview with CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who is filing in for Larry King on Wednesday's Larry King Live.

When Gupta raised the issue of Clinton’s trademark finger wag, the former president interrupted the neurosurgeon.

“Sometimes it shakes,” Clinton said. “See, it’s a little shake,” he added as he lifted both hands, “but no shake here. I’ve been tested for it, I don’t have Parkinson’s.”

Clinton told Gupta he was “quite concerned” when he noticed his hands were shaking sometimes. “Because if I had Parkinson’s, I wanted to know so I could prepare. And I had it tested and the doctor said ‘no,’ he says it’s just a normal aging phenomenon.”

During the interview Clinton also discussed health care reform; stem cell research; and President Obama’s ambitious agenda on health care, energy, and education.

There are two potentially serious side effects of statins of which you need to be aware:

* Liver damage. Occasionally, statin use causes an increase in liver enzymes. If the increase is only mild, you can continue to take the drug. If the increase is severe, you may need to stop taking it, which usually reverses the problem. If left unchecked, increased liver enzymes can lead to permanent liver damage. Certain other cholesterol-lowering drugs, such as gemfibrozil (Lopid) and niacin, increase the risk of liver problems even more in people who take statins. Because liver problems may develop without symptoms, people who take statins have their liver function tested periodically.
* Muscle problems. Statins may cause muscle pain and tenderness (statin myopathy). The higher the dose of statin you take, the more likely you are to have muscle pains. In severe cases, muscle cells can break down (rhabdomyolysis) and release a protein called myoglobin into the bloodstream. Myoglobin can damage your kidneys. Certain drugs when taken with statins can increase the risk of rhabdomyolysis. These include gemfibrozil, erythromycin (Erythrocin), antifungal medications, nefazodone (Serzone), cyclosporine and niacin. If you take statins and have new muscle aching or tenderness, check with your doctor.
