5 months later; BBB can stand straight and can walk

WOOPIE!!!! It only took five months to get the treatment I needed. Six injections into my lower spine on 10/19 worked. I can now stand straight. I walked across the street to the mail box without crutches the day after the treatment.

Butrflynet is having to prevent me from over-doing my new mobility.

Life is good again.

@BumbleBeeBoogie,
It wasn't just 5 months, it was 15 appointments with 6 different doctors and a whole lotta pain.

She's lost so much of her muscle (nearly 50 pounds, mostly muscle) from being immobile for so long that she's probably going to need physical therapy just to get strong enough to have much endurance again.

I'm hoping to eventually get her strong enough to walk the dogs with me now and then.

@chai2,
They were directly into the lowest facet joints of the spine.

http://z.about.com/d/backandneck/1/0/o/1/facetjoint.gif

We looked at her MRI with the doctor and the nerve channels are narrowed, but he didn't think the pain was coming from there. It is the almost complete compression of her lower spine and massive arthritis damage there. She's supposed to go back to him in a couple weeks to evaluate whether further injections for nerve pain are needed.

She's had shots in her hip and spine and that has relieved most of her pain. She's still got a lot of pain in her knee and I'm wondering if a shot in the knee would be as beneficial as it has been for the hip and spine.

@Merry Andrew,
I've lost so much weigth that my clothes don't fit me. Three sizes smaller. I'm thrilled to lose the weight because it's best for my body's health. I want to lose more pounds, but not the hard painful way.

If you want to follow my diet, you have to have your spine fail and hurt like hell. I don't recommend it.

Some of us A2Kers are shedding pounds. The Lady Diane has lost a lot of weight, too.
