MEXICO CITY - An AeroMexico passenger plane was hijacked at the airport in the Mexican resort of Cancun on Wednesday and flown to Mexico City's international airport, where most of the passengers were reported to have been freed.
A Telemundo producer said the hijackers apparently were three Bolivians who were asking to speak to President Felipe Calderon.
Police, who did not fire a single shot, led as many as eight handcuffed men away from the airplane, which was isolated at the end of a runway in an area designed for emergencies. The hijackers' motive was unclear, though Mexican news media initially identified them as Bolivians demanding to speak with Mexican President Felipe Calderon.
Brings back memories - my worst ever airline flight was on Aeronaves, now Aero Mexico. We didn't get hijacked though, thank goodness.

@dyslexia,
A Bolivian junkie preacher who used a fake bomb to hijack a Mexican passenger plane Wednesday said he was on a mission from God to warn the world of an impending earthquake.
Jose Flores Pereira, 44, who carried a Bible and a small box wrapped in packing tape, explained that the date - 9/9/9 - was the number of the Beast upside down.
