Yup. There was no TV. You could listen to news from the front on the radio, of course, but if you wanted pictures, you had to rely on Movietone or similar services. (Those pics were at least a week or two out of date, of course, and heavily censored by the War Dept., but -- what the hell -- they showed actual footage of "our boys.")
