other than a mistake meatball to Cabrera (quickly dumped over the left field wall) Shields has been awesome.

I should be out working while its cool, but...

Mercy! Gomes just took CC Sabathia downtown for a HR that made it into orbit. Seriously that hit pretty far up the tall light stand. That short stroke of Gomes is sho- nuf purty!

Congrats on a great game last night...even it saddened me a bit. I like extra inning games of that sort.

i shut it off when your guys cut the lead to 7-5.
it wasn't feeling like a game the sawx would hold on and win.
i heard one of the talking heads on the radio say it was precisely the type of game we would have lost last year...

You had the tragedy know as Bobby Valentine last year.
The other day I told someone that the Red Sox were bound to do better this year just by having been rid of him. That alone I think has brought your guys a feeling of promise. (and if you are a Valentine fan, I apologize, I still recall his antics with the Mets)

Yes, agreed! He had a greatly over-blown opinion of his skills as a manager and motivator. Clearly Farrell was just what the doctor ordered.

Ryan Braun was just levied a 65-game suspension, cancelling the rest of his season. It is thought A-Rod will get a 100-game suspension in a moment or two. Plenty of time to heal up ..for... ?
