@realjohnboy,
And the first time they play Green Bay the Packer defense is going to tee off on him and get crazy trying to get to him.

Dont expect him to last the season.

HA, HA, IT'S BACK! THE A2K NFL "PICK-UM" GAME
That is the title of a thread on A2K I started. For the 6th year we have a game on A2K (not on Yahoo) where folks merely have to pick the winning NFL teams each weekend. It is geared towards folks with, at best, only a passing interest in the NFL. It is deliberately kept low key with the banter and story-telling getting precedence. Mysteryman,, Maporsche, Tico, Fox and ElStud, Osso, Alex, Gargamel, Fbaezer, Pantalones and Cyclop: please visit that thread and express an interest. Participation takes, at most, 10 minutes a week of work.

The NFL draft is almost exactly 7 days away. 6 pm EDT Saturday, 8/29.
I have a strategy for what I am hoping to accomplish, and 26 players on my shopping list so far!

@realjohnboy,
I did a sort of first listing... but not quite done, and now have computer woeze - If I don't get my own computer back by draft day, I'll go back to letting yahoo do all the work, as I don't have the patience to deal with dys' computer (bless his heart for letting me use it in the first place). I end up exhausted from playing Find the Cursor, and would go stark mad looking up football players and their stats. Mad, I tell you, raving mad. We'll see. Yahoo is probaby better at choosing than I am anyway.

I won't be around for the live draft, but I've got my list set up.
No real analysis on my part. I'm going with ESPN's top 200 with a little
adjustment here and there to suit my personal preferences.

To help us set our players for the draft, could somebody fill us in one more time on the number of players and defenses to be drafted for each position on a team:
i.e. QB
TE
RB
WR
Defense
etc?

@Foxfyre,
When it comes to the draft, Fox, you can do whatever you want. If you want to have 3 QB's and 3 K's and 4 DEF's on your team, that is your choice.
Once you get your team and games start, however, you can only put 1 QB, 1 K and 1 DEF in your lineup at a time.

@realjohnboy,
Okay, but how many players total can play. I'm trying to remember from last year.

1QB
1K
1 TE
2 WR
3 RB?

Or is it 3 WR and 2 RB?
1 Defense

And how many total for the bench?

@Foxfyre,
I believe our on-field line up can consist of:
1 QB
3 WR
2 RB
1 TE
1 K
1 DEF
I think, but am not at all sure, that our total roster is 22. So that would mean 13 on the bench.

Total roster size is 15 ... 6 bench players.

Question: If my predraft rankings are all taken before I have a full roster, does the computer then auto pick?

@realjohnboy,
Thank you kind sir.

And to reassure us one more time, what time is the draft again DST? Pacific - mountain- central - eastern? For instance Tico I think is an hour in time behind us, and I have us calculating the same time to the draft.

It's at 3:00 p.m. MST.

Which is 2 1/2 hours from now.

@Ticomaya,
Why is it "Mountain Standard Time"? Because that was the only option.

MST is GMT-7 ... the same as Arizona.

So I think that should be 4:00 p.m. in Albq, right?

@Ticomaya,
Oh Geez, I think so. I am so bad at stuff like that.

We are due at Fudrukkers for hamburgers at 5:30 before a group outing to the Isotopes game tonight so I hope the draft goes quickly.
