@Bi-Polar Bear,
he is dead - but I find this more interesting to talk about than maligning a whole county of people in my adopted home state...sorry if that's not to your liking.

@blueflame1,
Very good article -- how different things would be if MJ were convicted of anything. He was not. Eccentric? Yes. Insane? No.

@Ragman,
very thoughtful,fair-minded,insightful.... until the Obama remark. People can't disagee with this president's policies without being called a racist. Seems to me that they're the racists as they focus solely on the man's appearance and not what he does or believes. I hear him repeatedly praised as a "black" man or African American....WHO CARES?!!. I object to his socialist gov't expansion and dollar-destroying spending and welcome a debate on his policies- in detail- point by point- but his supporters are unable to do this because they don't even know what they are. Anyone supporting or not supporting a politician simply because he's black without knowing anything else is the true racist because you're only seeing his skin color. This is insulting and condescending. Before blindly repeating the liberal lines, think about what you are saying. Listen to the people who legitimately disagree with him. Can you specifically defend his agenda or, like the media, do you dodge honest discussion and resort to name calling because you can't debate his policies? Are you saying everyone must agree with this gov't and everything it does until we have a white person in the oval office? Who's the racist? (Sorry to go off on this tangent, I just wish people would be fair. I had major disagreements with Bush too but I was allowed to express those without being smeared or slandered. You just seemed like a fair minded, thoughtful person and I was caught by surprise at the end when you dismissed Obama's critics as simply racists.)

@mamamia3,
I'm not sure why you are replying to me specifically regarding Obama. If you read my post throroughly, my reference to Obama in no way either maligns him or makes light of him. Is it possible you meant t click on someone else's post? I see bias towards MJ as being about his pedophilia more than his race, but that's just a wild speculation on my part.

However, I think this is a sidetrack to a political discussion of Obama and Administration politics which can be related (racial bias issue) but I'm not so sure of the point. I'll reread it.

@mamamia3,
I did not ever dismiss critics of Obama as President or as a person as ONLY coming from racists. If that is your belief, then you misinterpret or are distorting my comment.

We can agree on the observation of history that our society has a sick side and racism exists in America. And, at times, the focus of that sickeness (racism) can be on rich black celebrities. This focus involves sensationalist media fanning those flames, sometimes raising the ire of a small faction of some racists towards very successful black people like MJ and Obama.

No matter what, there'll be those that want to sensationalize and elevate and expose their problems loudly . If there's a racial component or suspicion of a sexual aberration, all the more fuel to the fire, so to speak. It could be argued that there's a need by some to drag them down (by racists) and media to either feed their racism, or build their Nielsen ratings or sell newspapers.

None of this speak to guilt or innocence.

Michael Jackson is STILL dead!
