I want to get out some feelers right now to see if anybody would be interested in meeting in Austin in the first couple of weeks in Austin. As many of you know, our son lives there, and it's time I made my semi-annual jaunt to the blue star state's capital. I'll contact my friends who lives in and around Texas to see if they can meet up with us.
If interested, please suggest some dates - preferably for the weekends.
I'll start counting.
Count me in.
There is a beautiful kayak trail on the lake.. right in downtown.
Boat trips all over the place . Lots of good stand up comedy in town then too.

Great! Please keep tabs on the clubs on jazz/music/comedy and such so those of us interested can partake of these entertainment. Might recommend some good restaurants too! I still remember going to that one bar to watch the college football game with the outside screen in the early evening.
Austin is one of the few places in Texas that I've never visited. Don't know 'bout Sglass. In mid-June it's hard for me to make a definite commitment for early September, but tentatively, count us in.

You made my day! I'm so happy that you and Sglass will try to come to Austin. For making the trek, I'll treat you guys to dinner. Save this "coupon;" it expires after September 2009. LOL

This.. is going to be fun.
There is a wonderful brunch restaurant that serves delicious italian black footed ham that I have been wanting to try out. I will make the trip before I head out to ny and report if it is as good as the reviews it has.
I would suggest live music, but that will not give too good of an opportunity for conversation, unless we find a small place where we can be far enough away to hear one another.
If anyone needs help finding a place to stay over night, by all means , send me a PM.
We should be moved into the bigger place by then too.. and if I have the room, anyone is welcome .
I'd love to come but i'll be in Australia that month.

I pretty much got my dental work finished yesterday. Now waiting for my crowns to come back from the mainland. That's where all my $$$ has gone for the past year.

I'm a native Texas and attended UT and haven't been back for decades and decades.
i wish i could remember the names of some of the scuzzy bars i matriculated in. And I know tons of Aggy jokes.

9/7 works for me! When we plan on the trip, we'll be there for two weekends if need be.
Hmmm. Sounds interesting. Yall may want to find out if UT has home football games - which could complicate hotel searches.
