@Barry The Mod,
I just scratched my arse and then lit another roll up. I'm just about to call for one of the maids to plump my pillow up.

We had a movie moment earlier. We ran (as in sprinting with luggage) after getting out of customs to the train to padington. Made it there with 30 minute until the train left from kings crossing. The circle line was running late! We made it on the tube and then to kings crossing two minutes late. We ran like maniacs. My hat came off and Taylor had to sweep it up. Out of breath and well perspirated we got to the ticket counter.

We weren't a few minutes late. We were just shy of an hour early. Somehow my phone had not changed from Zurich time.

The real irony here is that given our extra hour we wanted to find a pub to celebrate... But we couldn't. That's right: we couldn't find a pub in london. Lol.

We are on the train now and headed north to the countryside.

Bazza - I love the photos!

@Barry The Mod,
It's easy finding a pub. You just look for a light flickering in the darkness and desolation and there you are.

We were about to shoot off a flare gun, but we decided to save it in case we were lost at sea.

@Barry The Mod,
Wonderful photos, Barry. I liked all of them. The reflection one is a "painting".

What is "Dilly" - is that a particular square?

You would be better off Barry not finding any pubs.

A2K is like a pub in many respects. One in particular is that you deal with what you find in there and resist the infantile temptation to make it over to fit your persona, And both have public entrances.

Pubs and A2K are obviously not your metier. It's a play pen you're looking for.

TK asked for advice about "meeting" Englishness. I suggested the Test Match in Cardiff. Newmarket races is also suitable.

And 10 pages hardly constitutes a populat thread.

@spendius,

Was in the Horse & Jockey, Chorlton Green, this evening.

Very English.

We took our rolled umbrellas and wore our bowler hats.

@McTag,
Indeed, square can be a misnomer.
