You can to that too Jo. I'm just telling ya', that fresh wild salmon tastes much better than farmed. You don't post your location. Do you have a good local fishmonger?

Not your everyday breakfast food, but tasty and filling. That reminds me...Fat Tuesday coming up, Paczki(sp?) Day in Hamtramck.

Mmmm to both of those, but paczki are lard-boiled boulders of cardiac arrest.

400-calorie, 20-fat-grams, that's why a paczki tastes so good. In my uncounting calorie days, I could eat 2 or 3 and not gain an ounce.

Zane, I've visited Hamtramck once or twice...Paczki day is a HUGE celebration there. I live a bit farther north now and it's quite a ways too travel.

I think Jo is off trying to find wild salmon. Jo, I can teach you to fish if you want. Smile

You know what they say. Give a person a fish and they'll eat well. Teach a person to fish and they'll sit in a boat drinking beer all day.

Paczki (at least the ones you can get in Little Poland here) are the most extraordinary donut.

littlek, DO NOT POST PICS of donuts. Shame on you!!! Though I'm not usually a big fan, I occassionally get the itch for one. Must not eat fatty foods... must not. haha

I couldn't go grocery shopping today because my trip to the dentist and petsmart took longer than I thought. Drove 2 hrs to see the one from the town I just moved from. I was afraid to try someone new. Nothing like some new person poking you in the gums!!!

I will go tomorrow!!! I've never been fishing. ...used to live across the street from the chesapeake bay too!

That's not a donut, it's a paczek.

colorbook, I used to live close enough to Hamtramck to do all my deli and bakery shopping there.

Zane, you left out what kind. it makes all the difference?

i don't enjoy the pizza ones. they just aren't as good as the real thing, and the bread gets too hard.

i used to eat the jalapeno&steak ones all the time when I was younger. i think that and the normal ham&cheese ones were my fav.
