I couldn't believe it when it happened. It would've been a perfect game if it wasn't for an error by Pablo Sandoval on an average groundball.

Aaron Rowand snatched an Edgar Gonzalez' line drive that was inches out of being a home run for the 26th out. I was screaming at the TV at the time.

This week there will be a couple of close or relatively close matches and some blow-outs. When the dust settles, 8 of us will have moved (*) up or down in the standings.
1) Fbaezer will end up in a tie this week but hangs on to 1st at .571;
2) Gargamel will endure a bad loss and sinks to 3rd at .560; *
3) George will romp to a big win and ends up in 2nd with a .570 average; *
4) Jose will get by 10-7-2 in his matchup and sticks in 4th at .545;
5) Tico will win 10-8-1 and is right behind Jose at .541 - good for 5th;
6) McGentrix will tie and stays in 6th at .515;
7) Fox will get whupped by her hubby and slumps to 9th at .476; *
8) Alex will also lose big and slips to 10th at .470; *
9) Jespah will win easily and jumps to 7th at .489; *
10) Johnboy will have a bad week (7-10-2) and fades to 11th at .461; *
11) Osso will lose 8-10-1 and also finishes at .461, good for 12th; *
12) ElStud will show no mercy to Fox, and climbs to 8th at .477; *
13) JPinMilw will win his matchup but stays in 13th at .461;
14) Mysteryman will still be last at .404.

Bad? Easily? Not really.

Well, Johnboy was right--I should have known.

It was just hard for me to swallow the notion that I could pitch 74 innings and notch 7 wins, a CGSHO, 60 Ks, 4 holds, and post a 3.14 ERA with a 1.08 WHIP, and still have a "bad" week.

But I did.

Johnboy's crystal ball was the best ever this week as he went 10/14 correct and the 4 misses were all hairline.

Noting that slowly but perceptably the bottom group is improving their percentage while the top group is slipping. This suggests that it's still a horse race and any dark horse could take the lead before it is over. Unfortunately the Owls continue in the wrong direction, however.

If only I could bottle it.

The Skoalmen did a heck of a comeback this week, from 1-11 on Wednesday, they ended up beating PFM 9-6.
My boys were forced to hear muzak for 2 hours, as punishment. They have 3 days to recover from that anyway.

Was there a lot of Barry Manilow on those muzak tapes?

It appears we have 3 days off here at the beginning of the week. I notice that Yahoo has started accepting registration for Fantasy NFL Football. The 1st NFL game is 9/10. That seems like a long time away but last year the league started to come together in early July.
I hope JPinMilw or Tico can set up the league for us. I would suggest that the commish let us here know when we can register before going public with a new thread on A2K trolling for players. But that, along with the league size and rules, is up to the commish.
