Sorry....delayed while getting lunch on the table.
I have no problem with and would welcome having the PM feature back Jane. All I did was suggest that, if possible, the ignore feature should apply to PMs too when we really want to ignore somebody who is being particularly offensive or abusive or just excessively annoying. Used to, offensive/abusive posts were deleted and/or what were judged to be offensive threads were locked and/or the offending member was expelled for awhile which generally displeased about half the population too. Now the board is self-governing which has its downsides and also its upsides.
I sympathise and agree with you that if members do not communicate what they want and/or don't want, then the board gods have no way of knowing. On the other hand, the chiefs ultimately have to call the shots and, even though I have seen members being heard and accommodated, there is no way they can please everybody. Sometimes they just have to decide to do what is expedient for them.
I honestly don't believe the board gods are intentionally withholding PMs from us. I just think it is a pretty complicated and time consuming code issue that they haven't gotten to yet.
Okay, back to our previous programming.
