Yes, that's true. But what you choose to remember about someone can seem to communicate animosity. If you choose to remember a negative instead of moving on and recognizing that there may have been other positives - that can feel like animosity to the one of whom you carry that one negative memory.

Of course you're free to remember whatever you choose about me Francis. I know I can't change that.

@Fountofwisdom,
Yes, he doesn't just give answers - he asks questions that make me think. I enjoy that sort of interaction.
He'd be a good teacher.

@aidan,
I told one lie on this forum and I apologized for it three and a half years ago. I'm tired of having that thrown up as if it's been my only post. It hasn't.

This is the sort of thing I object to. I mean we are primarily here to entertain ourselves. I feel people who have to win at the expense of abusing others pathetic. I don't mind saying so. i have been called a liar amongst other things. It is boring. I am here to get excited.

Yes, you can't.

But I cannot change your perception of my posts either.

What you think is animosity, is only me trying to be impartial.

At no time had I addressed you a scathing remark or a put-down.

@Francis,
Well good - then I'll believe that you have no animosity toward me. I'd like that. Thank you.

and..as to your comment about what's inside -- Well, what's inside you? Why not end the charade or game and identify? You dragged this game out beyond the point of entertainment value.

Hear that sound? That's people walking away.

@Ragman,
I guess I'm the Iggy Pop of a2k posts. I'd rather be cult than mainstream. I think the quote is hey man whats that sound. Everybody stop and look around. I can't understand how you think hostility helps. At Iggy Pops first gig everyone walked out except two people. Alice Cooper and Frank Zappa. The moral. Those that are bothered aren't worth bothering with.

@aidan,
Thinking about it: my early posts were better crafted. But voted down by hostile people. I stopped trying to say anything interesting and no one was reciprocating. Your views are very perceptive. I disagree on thought provokingness of Dave: but we are all different.

@Fountofwisdom,
You flatter yourself with comparison to Iggy. What is boring to me is that I'm looking for the creative part of this and it escapes me.

And do try to distinguish the difference between pointed criticism and hostility.

@Ragman,
pedantic and sophomoric is probably criticism: I think it is a bit hostile: Implied immaturity and selfishness. I believe you are missing that I may be joking in places, which surprises me really.
I find being accused of narcissism by a guitarist ironic. I hardly compared myself to Iggy, its one of my favourite parables about worrying about criticism.
Perhaps this isn't creative and you are right. Oh well. Hardly criminal. At least I tried. Basically I set a challenge and then did it. To quote Mr. Zimmerman: I can't please everyone so why try and please anyone at all? Perhaps this is my Tin Machine.

Let me qualify this to be more accurate. You are either a man or a gay woman. It would be impossible to absolutely rule out the latter possibility, but you are certainly one or the other.

@Brandon9000,
Why d'ya think so, Brandon (not that I really, really give a crap whether this naval-gazing idjit is either, but just for the sake of polite conversation...)?

@snood,
Really, do you think abuse makes you look big. What are we here for. Polite conversation. If you have no views, clear off, and make room for those who do.

@Fountofwisdom,
Who's a guitarist?

I agree with Intrepid...this sort of dynamic is all too familiar. I think she/he/it has done this sort of ruse before, particularly by the tone of the defensiveness and attempts at blunting any criticism as others being hostile even when they are not.
