Gender Challenge: Am I a woman or a man?

@spendius,
I don't feel qualified in telling people how they should live their lives. basically society has to be able to fit all comers. That phrase has given me a juvenile giggle. All comers: sounds very groany. I don't believe you can anally penetrate a verb. The relationship would be all wrong. A word I've never been able to pronounce is sodomonical, if there is such a word.
Talking of hard to pronounce, oral sex is a mouthful.

@Fountofwisdom,
I've been a woman working in construction.
Now I'm a prima donna..
No, I'm kidding, I can't carry a tune.

This subject is interesting at base, but the thread is a mess re comments from all of us..

@ossobuco,
Its more of a gentle conversation which is what I wanted. The debates get too angry: too many people get shouted down. I could imagine you in flashdance. Doing the dance. The steel hat sucks as an accessory tho. I mean what goes with yellow?

@Fountofwisdom,
I did take over the business after dad died. When he was alive, I went from putting up wood siding to doing his payroll, books, dealing with the accountant, builders and making sure every job site had the supplies they needed. I thought I could handle the business, but back in those days I was still the only female I ever saw on the construction sites and I had a hell of a time keeping my foreman from trying to rob me blind.
The builders were respectful and honest enough, but babysitting my crew, especially the ones who were suppose to be in charge, was more than I could take.
I was only 21 when dad died and I was devistated, so after 2 years of dealing with dishonest employees, I decided to sell the business.
My mind has always been on building a business that would work for me. Real estate has always been my passion, but I've yet to throw myself into it, other than working for a real estate agency for a short time in the states.
I ended up going into the taxi business where I had my own cab for 3 years, which I sold to move to Canada.
I did well with my taxi, but the stress was unreal and for that reason, I have no desire to get back into it.
I attempted an ebay business last year, but between the ecconomy and the competition, that didn't work out either.
I'm still driving towards the real estate, but more on a "flip this house" way. Buy a handyman special, fix it up and sell.
This way it takes me out of the customer service arena and I get to do what I love, which is home improvements.
In the mean time, because of my rural location, I do seasonal work.

Sorry for the long winded post. Once I started explaining what I thought would be a short story, my fingers kept going Laughing

@Montana,
I'm interested; no need to apologise.
I can share some of it in that I spent two years self employed in delivery. I love the road. Basically accidents stopped me from earning> really stupid ones> with knock on results for insurance increasing, extra wear and tear. I really enjoyed the experience,Even though I ultimately failed to make a living.
I think a parental death, does affect you're perspective. Certainly makes it harder to focus on earning money. Ironically the Death knell for me was my house prices rising. Basically my house was earning more than me. For doing nothing. Shot away my motivation. Making your own choices beats most work experiences.
Do you think it the employees tried it on more because you are a woman? I've found engineers to be very sexist. I live in a rural locality. Its why I spend my time on line.

My goodness!
I don 't remember saying that "real men" DO anything.

Will u remind me what that was ?

Well a lot of people like it: its probably like Greenwich village. You might not fit in.

Greenwich Village has a quiet cozy warmth to it.
The first time that I ventured into it, around 50 years ago,
I felt somehow at home in a very nice, almost nostalgic place.
U feel the inherent charm of it-- a soothing quaint friendliness.
It has a lot of good alluring small restaurants in it too.
Among my favorites is One If By Land, Two If By Sea,

America 's first Secretary of the Treasury, Al Hamilton.
It has really good Beef Wellington, tho u can get sprain of the brain
from the strain of the pain of resisting the tempting enticements
on the menu that seek to seduce u off the True Path
that leads to the Beef Wellington.
My friend Marty, the Mensa SIG Co-ordinator lives there.

Personally I'm not bothered how you address me as long as it is polite.

I did not mean to suggest that the pronouns annoy u,
I just wanted to know whether u desire male or female pronouns.

I have to look up the word somatic.

OK: IF u tell me what I said that " real men do " then,
in exchange, I will define the word "somatic" as
relating to the body (human body).
I was just saying that u were born with a male body
and u have homosexual or trans-gender thoughts n desires.

We both found it stimulating. It was our foreplay.

I don't claim it was normal.

Did u use irrational numbers ?

On a psychological note, anyone who loves their father more than their mother generally has massive Manson like issues. For teachers, Girls are only motivated by their fathers expectations. Girls by their mothers. There's a lot of research. the top 50 richest businesswoman all either hated their fathers, or had absent ones. For parents. Alcoholic males have high achieving children, women don't.

Will u define "Manson like issues" ?

@rhymer,
Quite perceptive. I dont drive, but if I did that would be a good choice, stylish if retro, individual. Its the sort of car you have to love. Cherish. Its a passion more than a vehicle.

@OmSigDAVID,
Certainly. Psychotic behaviour patterns. It is a strong indicator. These needn't involve violence. Things like gambling, risk taking, sadistic sex. etc. If you are relatively old then you are safe (ish). In that you've found a way of channelling. For example: Tough businessman, Doorman bouncer, working in a slaughterhouse. Rat catcher. People can cope with it, but need to stop it going out of hand.

@Fountofwisdom,
Yes, I do believe being a woman was a huge part of the lack of respect I recieved from my foreman, but I think the age played just as big a part in it.
I confronted them on stealing from me and they got angry that I would accuse them of such a thing, but I had all the proof I needed, which I showed them. They became even more angry, most likely because they couldn't pull the wool over the eyes of this 21 year old kid. That's when I told then to get the hell out of my house.
My father had just given these assholes a raise right before he died, so this is how they showed their respect for him.
My taxi insurance was 5,400 a year just for one cab and the expense of maintaining the car was way up there as well, but I still managed to make a good living with it. Of course it helped that I was in a city only 20 minutes from Boston and all the dispatchers had the hots for me Laughing
I hear ya on the house thing. I had a duplex in the states. Had the real estate thing going in my mind, thinking of getting into owning multi family homes, but I changed my mind quickly after having tenants. No thanks.

These days, you see women on construction sites everywhere and I think it's awesome. It's about time.

@OmSigDAVID,
69, two prime factors. 3 and 23. We got more adventurous than that. 6969 for example. On special ocassions we would factorise cubits.
The point is. it was weird. No one got hurt and we enjoyed it. I find golf stranger.
You were saying real men said hi hows work: and then switched to a bit of abuse.I've seen some strange things described as "male bonding." Fights, for example.
I've certainly never have had trans gender thoughts. I think its a bit odd really.
As for homosexual thoughts or actions. Certainly not on a persistent or consistent level. And not as an adult. If you have never engaged in a homosexual act leading to orgasm you are in the minority. I think the split is 55/45. Less than 30% of men have never had a homosexual thought in their lives.
A lot of blokes deny this. That is why they invent games where they can touch other men, and still feel manly. Rugby, American football, wrestling, etc.

@Montana,
In England female taxi drivers are very common.Women feel comfortable being driven home by another woman. I have never met a woman who hasnt had a scary experience or worse with a cabby.
I think you are right about age. I think the anger was just an attempt to intimidate you. Certainly I know that a woman driving into a garage will get a higher bill than a man. But so will someone with a posh accent. I always try and sound blue collar and wear my worst clothes.
I think their actions were unforgivable. There's something wrong about stealing from the dead.
The thing is you weren't beaten by it. A lot of people would be embittered.
