Can you look at this map and say Israel does not systemically appropriate land?

@0bserver,
Look at a map. Palestinian homes are now Israeli, and the original owners are all in refugee camps.

@izzythepush,
No. I never said that. I can repeat - occupation is bad and it has to stop. You just have to be more balanced and think for both sides if you really want it to stop it and not incite more violence.

3. I don't see how it matters. I'm from Canada. Canada has lots of its own issues, so don't start listing them - I know them all by myself pretty well.

Why not? you're pretty good at listing the UK's. You go on about how the UK pushed settlers all over the world, and you're a beneficiary of that. Having pushed your indigenous people off their lands so you can live in your house would make you sympathetic to the Israeli settlers.

What is Canada doing about Syria?

@izzythepush,
You mean 1948? Yes, that did happen. Not clear if they were intimidated by the Jews or convinced by the Arab leaders to leave and come back and finish off the Jews with their armies. That is not what you meant. You said in the west bank, the Jews are taking the homes of the Palestinians - right now. I would like to see some examples of that.

@izzythepush,
I'm listing the UK's in response to you listing Israel's.

"Having pushed your indigenous people off their lands so you can live in your house would make you sympathetic to the Israeli settlers."

That wasn't me that was our Queen.

But seriously, all I am saying is that the world is not as simple as many people want to see it. It's like in that old joke about the Russian going to war. The friends ask him "why do you want to go and fight?", he says "to kill Germans", "what if they kill you?" , "but what did I do wrong?"

No conflict has good guys and bad guys. I never said the Palestinians were the bad guys. You and many others do think the Israelis are the bad ones.

And Canada doesn't have the resources the UK has to do something about Syria

You're the one benefitting from it. Not me.

Absolute bullshit, look at the size of Canada next to the UK. You've got shitloads of resources.

@izzythepush,
Come on. Even you know this has nothing to do with this conflict. Bedouins have issues with municipalities everywhere about illegal construction. This is a municipal issue - not at all related. Same thing happens to Jewish or Christian etc houses inside and outside Israel that were built without a permit. Bedouins just happen to have more of these problems because of their nomadic lifestyle.

Israel even build a whole city for them in the Negev, so that they could settle down:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rahat

But they still prefer to live in tents set up randomly in the desert. So yes, from time to time the random location of the tent is going to happen where something else was planned by the city.

@izzythepush,
Really? You think the UK, and Europe in general is no longer benefiting from the centuries of colonization?

@izzythepush,
Settle down. They have the same rights. No one in Israel is allowed to randomly set up tents for years wherever they like. I'm sure I can't just set-up a tent for years in the middle of the Piccadilly Circus

Hmm.. How about the Romans? The French? Still got those French words on the coat of arms. This argument leads nowhere

You know what I mean - military resources. That is related to the populations. But regardless, yes I would prefer if Canada did something to help too.

Why doesn't Canada have those resources? It's not like you're strapped for cash.

What about the Romans and French? They're in France and Italy.
