He has a point, but it is a point which has been made and nothing really happens. I am thinking though, with this new government being so far to the right, they may have dug themselves into a hole. (?)
While President Obama is still in power, there might be a chance for the Palestinians as the administration has hinted they would not veto any UN resolutions against Israel in the future in order to get them to fall in line.
Nevertheless, if Hillary replaces Obama the pressure on Israel, IMO, will be lessened, and the US will return to vetoing all UN resolutions against the rogue nation. Hillary is definitely in the Zionist camp, and her granddaughter is partly Jewish. Since her position as US senator from NY her ties with AIPAC has been strengthened (she has spoken before them frequently), and she might end up throwing the Palestinians under the bus; she definitely will not do anything to ease their apartheid position.
And yet, the Palestinians are no longer alone. With the Vatican promising to endorse a Palestinian state very soon. "The proclaimed State of Palestine is recognized by 135 countries. The Israeli military commander exercises usufructuary rights in accordance with international law, but it is
not the legal sovereign of the disputed territory. The permanent sovereignty of the Palestinian people over the natural resources of the Palestinian territories has been recognized by 139 countries, and Palestine is recognized by the UN as a non-member state."
And yes, this right-wing Israeli government might have bitten off more than it can chew because by their spiteful action, they will only succeed in turning the world more fully against them and there is the prospect of European boycotts against the tiny nation. Israel cannot afford to be isolated with only the US on its side; truth be known, America (excluding the religious fanatics who believe in the end times--all Jews returning to Israel is somehow related to the coming Messiah) are becoming a little bored with Israel's behavior. There are Jewish professors who speak on campuses that they resent their American taxpayer money going to Israel who is using cruelty and apartheid against the Palestinians.
