It's not the turtle (Zeno) paradox, atoms can't touch in normal circumstances. Neil DeGrasse-Tyson said so in Cosmos. The fusion reaction in a star being a place where they can. Our sense of touching someone is actually the electrical fields of our respective atoms resisting a merge.
