@ehBeth,
Thanks, Stradee. I will never never be complaining - I only worry.

Hey every Wildclicker = remember this???

Year 2002 - about the time I was invited to join the team by ehBeth.

We Wildclickers were in a battle with a team named "littlelion69" - little had 7.9 acres and we had 4.7 acres in the year 2002.

We headed up a really great team of Wildclickers and in the next year - 2003 - on October 20, 2003 - We went ahead of the Littlelion69 group and became the NO. ONE clicking team in the world with 35.7 Acres.

We have been the NUMBER ONE team in the world ever since that time.

HURRAH!!!!

Good Morning

Did anyone see the meteor shower today? Was supposed to occur just before dawn above the Western Hemisphere. Skies were clear, but no meteors that I saw. Dang it was {and still is} cold. brrr

Here's an interesting story regarding today's elephant ansestors, the Mammoth. Diamonds seem to hold the answer for the animals (and humans) disappearance 13,000 years ago.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - California is suing the Bush administration to block last-minute endangered species regulations that are intended to reduce input from federal scientists.

Attorney General Jerry Brown announced Tuesday that he had filed the federal lawsuit late Monday in San Francisco.

"The Bush Administration is seeking to gut the Endangered Species Act on its way out the door," the Democrat and former California governor said in a statement. "This is an audacious attempt to circumvent a time-tested statute that for 35 years has required scientific review of proposed federal agency decisions that affect wildlife."

The Interior Department issued the revised rules earlier this month. They allow federal agencies to issue permits for mining, logging and similar activities without getting a review from biologists.

The changes also eliminate a requirement that agencies consider the effects of greenhouse gas emissions when reviewing projects on federal land.

Interior Department spokeswoman Tina Kreisher said the revised rules will continue to protect threatened and endangered species and noted that the law says federal agencies will ensure no listed animals are killed.

California asked a federal court to block the changes, arguing the Interior Department:

• Violated the Endangered Species Act by adopting regulations that are inconsistent with that statute;
• Violated the National Environmental Policy Act by failing to consider the environmental ramifications of the proposed new regulations; and
• Violated the Administrative Procedures Act by not adequately considering public comments submitted by the attorney general and numerous other organizations and concerned citizens.

The state lawsuit follows three similar ones filed earlier by environmental groups.

California is home to 310 plant and animal species listed as endangered or threatened by the federal government, more than any state except Hawaii, according to the complaint.

Not a surprise the DOI rushed through the new regs. They'll all be lawyering for coal and dirty energy companies again, only legally, in just a few days.

@alex240101,
Same resolution every year ... more picnics!

This year I want to make more breads/biscuits/savoury muffins for the picnics.

I got the picnic idea from an A2k'r who hasn't posted in ages - who got it from another A2k'r back in Abuzz days.

Picnics really are wonderful.

@ehBeth,
Maybe once a year we do a picnic. That is a nice resolution. Picnics.
Ours is: a homemade foccacia bread, with fresh mozzarella, tomatos, and eggplant. After picking up goods from the bakery, the drive to "our spot" is difficult, because of the wonderful smell of the bread.

@alex240101,
I started (maybe 5 or 6 years ago) with a goal of one picnic a month.

In the winter it meant sitting in the car having sandwiches and hot tea - getting out for a quick walk with the dogs.

~~~
By last year, we were having a picnic meal at the beach at least once a weekend. This year I want to add more after-work picnics to the mix. It's wonderful in so many ways. The location doesn't have to be a major 'destination' - a nice local park can work nicely.
ahhhhh, picnics
(I can pack for one very quickly now - doesn't seem as much like expedition-planning any more)
@alex240101,
My resolution this year is visiting old friends in the city more often. Actually, that resolve was made for me by people i haven's seen since moving to the mountains. "Driving to the city is a 4 and 1/2 hour trip one way" i duly explain but to no avail. I'm younger than they are, they say. to funny
One friend {who's 93} will be taking a trip to Portugal in the Spring. Maybe more travel is a good resolution for me too.
I do love picnics and often grab a sandwich and sit by the river for lunch. Quite lovely and serene.
@Stradee,
That's a great picnic, Stradee. Most often it is made better with a close friend - a real friend - one you can say stupid things to - and they don't laugh.
All the best to the best Wildclickers in the world. We started with about 2 mill - and now it's over 10 million people clicking.
Course they don't all click each day - but - with that many it means a lot.
