@Stradee,
Stradee, how's the new compy doing?

Getting ready for the New Year. We still have some left-over goose to get rid of. It was a good one - I used my X-Mother-in-Laws recipe. She was Austrian and one of the very best cooks I have ever met. Main thing to do with a goose - which is normally really greasy - is to baste it several times with plain water. That draws out the fat and leaves the meat nice and tender. And, some other stuff that's optional.

@ehBeth,
Stradee, I recommend the Panasonic Lumix TZ1 with 10 times zoom and Image Stabilization. Look it up on line = Panasonic. Price should be right also.....

Great camera and many opportunities to shoot including camera footage. I just love mine - I've had it for about two years.

The Image Stabilization mode is the best feature for me - it allows you to take pics in dim light with sharp images.

But, that's my choice.

Clicked today.

@danon5,
Dan, thanks for the advise! Digital cameras are so much nicer! Able to take photos then view the shots immediately, save what ya want, etc.

Ya know, with all the sales now, i should be able to buy both a tv and camera!

Hello everybody.
I can't remember if I have ever saw twenty something inches of snow, melt in three days. Talk about a fog out. Tonight, below freezing. Tomorrow, skating in the backyard.
Have nice days.

The prices have really dropped in the last couple of years - while the quality has improved. They're really quite marvellous.

crazy weather, eh, Alex.

The fog on Saturday was just crazy. We've still got quite a heaping of snow here in downtown Toronto, less in the western burbs. It started snowing a bit again tonight on my drive home - they promise it'll just be a tiny bit - though another windstorm is coming through. Something like 120,000 hydro customers still without power in central Ontario. Yesterday's windstorm was wicked, and not in the good way.

@ehBeth,
ehBeth, and, all.

I've survived in minus seventy-two below zero degree temp in Fairbanks, AK. Year, Winter 1970.

It was a record breaking temp. In history. Look it up.\

That is the most cold I've been in - out of some structure with a heater.

I was a person in charge of judging some of the military exerises outside in the wild during an historical trial in that year. It was around the site of the "Galloping Galcier at Delta Junction - South East of Fairbanks, AK.

The ambient temp was average minus sixty degrees - the wind was approxamately thirty miles per hour. So, go figure the temp. It was well below 12o degrees below zero - - - well below, the figures we were given were well below those degrees that were ok. We mostly stayed in our tents and tried to not freeze something.

Anyway, Thanks for clicking all you Wildclickers.

Stay warm widlclickers!

One more workday, then a weeks vacation. Pruning, trimming, and a ton of pine kneedles - temps 54 degrees - very mild for winter. Will have a few days for relocating plants and placing deer protections around each. Then theres the gargantuan shroom condos everywhere. Will be busy if the weather holds.

Good day all

@Stradee,
Good day all.
So, I'm reading the box of organic tea, I received for Christmas. The brand is called Numi. The box states:"By using recycled material made of minimum of 85% post consumer waste for this package, Numi annually conserves the below estimates:
Trees saved 2,876
Landfilled reduced (lbs.) 184,992
Energy reduced (000BTU) 1523 million
Water reduced(gallons) 1,289,868
Net greenhouse emission 260,145
Pretty neat.

Danon5. Incredible story I buttoned up my sweater while I was reading it.

I have a busy day tomorrow. If I do not get onto the computer, I want to wish stradee, sumac, danon5 ehBeth, and all my rainforest friends, a wonderful New Years. God Bless each and every one of you.

@alex240101,
Late clicks today, I just returned from taking my Patti to the hospital for a sleep clinic treatment. Her doctor has figured she needs more oxygen now. That's unhappy news for us - the two big killers of ladies with MS is - kidney problems - which she has had periodically for about the last four yrs - and, now she is beginning to have the second big killer - respiratory problems. We are doing all we can to stop these things.

Happy clicking all..... Exclamation Very Happy

@alex240101,
Hurray for Numi! Those are some serious stats from a company! Good job!

The same to you, Alex. Hoping all the Wildclickers begin the new year with much hope, love, and happiness. Blessings to you and yours also, Alex.

Dan, you and your Pattie have ridden the MS storm for many moons, and have managed to beat the odds.

Wishing you and Pattie more miracles.

Yo Beth, a marvelous New Year is in store for you too, and all our friends at the Rainforest thread. Sue, Teeny, and everyone clicking each day - am sending best wishes for a terrific New Year Very Happy

@Stradee,
Made it back home through some crazy Shocked winds out there. I wouldn't have wanted to be in a van or truck on some of those overpasses this morning or afternoon.

We're going to have a cold brrrrrr and crisp evening here in Toronto. Hopefully it will be sunny tomorrow so we can get out to the Beach for the traditional promenade on the boardwalk.

Wishing all of the WildClickers, their families and friends (especially the furry and fuzzy ones) a marvellous, peaceful 2009!
