@danon5,
Got my first e mail update from a2k for a thread i hadn't read or posted at.

{Silly Hamsters}

More rain today! Hurray

Reading some of the new laws enacted for 2009, and one is a ban on text messaging when driving a motor vehicle. huh? It's difficult enough giving blue tooth verbal commands! Who in the heck types and drives at the same time???

@danon5,
LOL

Believe the photo was taken Fall of '07.

Here's the one of the twins {met them when they were spotted babies} sitting with his mamma waiting for pellets. Must have been 07 because the property next door no longer has buildings {thank God} and that's been over a year ago.

@danon5,
Here's the same male {photo with mamma} taken during the fall - with two new babies - he telling me there'd be more mouths to feed during the winter. And there were!

@Stradee,
Up early and attem...... Creaking along.

Stradee, those are really great shots. We have a herd that comes and goes past our home here in NE TX. Mostly it's the females I see - rarely the male. But, that's normal - the males tag along behind the females for some reason.

@danon5,
Slept late today - nice not having to work for another five days. hurray

The camera is a 33 m Canon Owl and for the past century or more, has taken great shots, good color, etc.

The deer are something, arn't they? Camera shy though - haven't gotten many close-ups of the herd when they visit near the porch. The male, all grown now, has a few babies of his own and stays close to them and the females He'll leave during the rutting season when the babies are older and can fend for themselves. Then the cycle begings again. Amazing critters

Hello all. Thursday. Clicked.
First time I've seen a female cardinal chase away the bluejays.
Question: Do ducks mate for life?

@alex240101,
Yes they do, Alex.

Mallards, geese, pheasant, grouce, doves, pigeons, eagles, robins, wrens, cranes, cardinals, even Stellar Jays all mate for life. Most if not all birds stay together until one or the other partner dies.

The only enemy in the bird kingdom that Stellar Jays have are hawks, eagles, and owls. All quite a bit larger than even the Stellars. The cardinal mom probably had enough of the Jays aggression, no doubt. {grin}

Isn't it great! I was worried at first when msn groups migrated over, but I find it sooooooo much easier to load photos there.

Amazing how technology advances so quickly. Just scan the photo, then from 'my scans' drag and drop the pic to the site. very cool

@Stradee,
Will check out the link tomorrow, Stradee.....It's late - and, I'm tired and sleepy.

Give us the URL of the site to upload and post photos. It sounds much easier than the one we have been using during the past few years.

Thanks for clicking.
