Why don't you produce a list Rex of all the firms which have made a point of announcing that discrimination is bad for business so that we can all show our appreciation of their noble and brave stance?
How many teenage homosexuals need to take their own lives before you get the picture? This is not a ******* joke ok?
Discrimination based on sexual orientation, race, religion etc... is cruel and certainly not "christian" nor is it humane.
Look whose ads in NY are poisoning the minds of youth? According to antiquity, "Satan the great accuser" accuses those of that when he alone perpetrates just as the republicans are doing. They says gays are poisoning the minds of the youth? Yet these hate ads are causing youths to commit suicide because they are being told by republicans that they don't fit into their perfect homophobic world.
@RexRed,
It wan't a joke. You brought public opinion into the matter--not me
Quote:In the past month, multiple polls have shown a majority of Americans now support marriage equality.
Right then-- publishing the list would benefit those firms. Where's the joke? Some firms already publicise their support for homosexuals. I thought you should help them out.
Rex is right about the polls, more than half of the country now supports gay marriage, and support for gays openly in the military is now running around three quarters of the country. The change has happened quite a bit sooner than anyone thought it would just a couple of years ago.
The loons at the American Family Council are boycotting Walmart, Ford and Disney for things like offering health insurance to employees' gay partners or advertising in gay publications, according to a video someone posted on another thread on a2k. They've appaently been boycotting Walmart for ten years now. Obviously they've had huge success there in affecting the bottom line (for the sartcasm-challenged, that was sarcasm).
Happy now, spendi?
@MontereyJack,
So you agree with me then Jack? Rex should do his bit to publicise the firms that know which way the wind is blowing.
spendi, you're on the wrong side of this one, as usual. and your position is being steadily more and more marginalized.
@MontereyJack,
I'm not on any side as long as the use of certain words does not make a mockery of our literature and distorts what sex is. If you think homosexuals are having sex feel free to do so. You'll never get me to agree to such a ridiculous proposition and I don't care about being on the wrong side or being steadily more and more marginalized.
@MontereyJack,
BTW Jack--how do you define "wrong side"?

Just as it is with heterosexuals, love is not sex. Just because two people have sex does not mean they love each other... but homosexuals who love each other deserve the same considerations. Homosexuals should be able to marry based upon the same principles of love that heterosexuals marry for and not because they simply have sex. You are putting the cart before the horse. There is a romantic part of homosexual love just as there is a romantic element to heterosexual love. But one could do the same to heterosexuals and says heterosexuals marry only for the sex and father bastard children just to get a piece of arse. You are terrified that two people of the same sex find comfort and solace in each other's intimacy. Get over it...
@RexRed,
I do not know what it is with Spendius when it comes to man on man sex because even the bible has men on men passion for each other!
What is wrong with word for word scripture reading! Yes Spendius is correct the the king James version can seem as the hottest book around at times!
Jesus tells it like it is!

@RexRed,
I'm not in the least terrified Rex. T.S. Eliot made that argument donkey's years ago. I'm glad that people can find comfort and solace in any circumstances.
You failed to address my point. How you talk about these things gives meaning to them for the younger generation. Don't call it marriage, don't call it gay, and don't call it sex because it isn't any of those unless it is heterosexual and not encumbered by the pharmaceutical industry, the surgical industry and the rubber goods industry or any other industry which saves being dropped into the **** through gross carelessness.
@spendius,
Spendius I like how this woman is able to put it! I think she is also freaking hot and smart! Wow someone is lucky!

The end of this short video was somewhat funny.
I would not of watched it because it seem boring at the beginning but I trusted the source that it came from that it had to have something in it!

If you have any mature uncles rl I would show them the video and ask their opinion on the type of female you seem to like.
@spendius,
What are trying to say uncle Spendius?
@spendius,
If you are trying to say that she could have put the truth in a format that would not have been so offensive then I would have to agree but there are people out there that like apodictic reasoning coming from women that are pleasing to the eyes!
What was it that kept your attention as long as it did? I showed some videos in the past that were not so provocative but you did not seem to watch, comment nor take interest in them!
@reasoning logic,

10 seconds was quite sufficient for my physiognomic skills. Anybody marrying her is in the ****.
Dear Rex,
Just hours ago, the Maine Senate joined the House of Representatives in defeating LD 1046, the bill that would have repealed the Maine Human Rights Act protections for public accommodations. The House vote of 81 to 61 was followed by the Senate vote of 23 to 11 against this bill. This bill would have opened the door for blatant discrimination against Maine’s transgender community.
The defeat of this bill by a strong, bipartisan majority of legislators in Augusta is a major victory for the LGBT community and our allies.
I was asked this morning, “how do you manage a victory like this in such a conservative legislature?” The answer is simple—working together. EqualityMaine helps to bring together the best minds, energy, organizers, and volunteers to work for equality for all Maine people.
The defeat of LD 1046 was made possible by our amazing colleagues in the transgender community, our countless volunteers, and the strong coalition of organizations who came together to oppose this bill. We thank the volunteers across the state who wrote countless letters and emails, and made thousands of calls to ask Mainers to lobby their legislators. This victory would not be possible without all of your help.
I am also delighted to report that LD 1237, the Anti-Bullying bill, has passed in the House of Representatives. If this legislation—which for the first time in Maine defines bullying and prevents it from happening at the outset—becomes law, it will benefit all Maine students but especially LGBT and questioning youth. Please continue to contact your state senators at 800-423-6900 to support this critical legislation.
Thank you for all you do.

@RexRed,
It is nice to see the world changing, regardless if it is only one step at a time, at least it seems as though it is changing!
