I have no doubt that two men and/or two women can love each other. Just because you love each other doesn't mean that marriage is the answer. I love my brother or my first cousin. should I marry them? If we can do whatever makes us happy, why can't i marry three men or a man marry several women. What is the difference? Marriage is defined as being a union between a man and a women. If gay people want the same rights as a married couple thats fine, just call it something else. Call a "Gay Union". Gay people already have the same rights as straight people. I'm not teaching my children that this is normal because it's not!

So queerage wouldn't work? Whatever is the objection to civil union?
Personally, I'd like to see the legal definition of marriage be removed altogether. Let all unions be civil unions; and let marriage be a term reserved for the institutions that wish so.

But the language difference is the only one that matters.

Didn't Orwell satisfy you that the first thing a totalitarian government does to cement its power is destroy the language. Like Mr O'Barmpot has changed the meaning of "military coup" and "red line" and a good few other important concepts. Such as doing something about guns=selling another million guns.

The verbal gesture as political tool. Like "gay" no longer means what it did.

Power is then handed to the demagogue rather than the statesman.

All along I have maintained that young persons of my grandson's age are not capable of defining their sexual identity. Those who seek to tell them that homosexuality is a healthy lifestyle are propagating a lie.
