I'm only talking about the Supreme Court making California voters irrelevant..

That's a dangerous precedence to set for the SC.

I think that they should be irrelevant because they are discriminating based on their beliefs.

I do not think any of us should be able to treat others deferentially. Could you imagine if they thought that people like you should not be allowed to marry, I forget where your family came from, was it Japan? If so could you imagine if they thought that Japaneses should not be allowed to marry and they voted against it?

@mcclurf,
You "people" have great imagination that goes beyond common sense or good judgement. What the USSC did was overthrow the discriminatory practice of inequality for gays and lesbians.

You christian righties don't have either common sense or humanity. You claim a marriage is sacred, and is only for men and women to enjoy. Why is it that over 50% of heterosexual marriages end in divorce. What's so sacred?

All you want to do is control other people's lives without any concern for their happiness.

It's not only draconian, but without any merit or danger to heterosexual marriage. If any heterosexual marriage goes bad, it's because the wife or husband "don't like the marriage" for any reason. Don't blame homosexuals for heterosexual marriages that ends in divorce. That's not logical.

@cicerone imposter,
Code: Don't blame homosexuals for heterosexual marriages that ends in divorce. That's not logical.

I've never heard anyone blame homosexuals for marriages ending in divorce. And certainly there was nothing in mcclurf's post to indicate that he did. But keep making stuff up. It is certainly entertaining when you do.

@CoastalRat,
At least you find CI entertaining. I find the post he responded to to be a tiring piece of crap argument that keeps getting repeated as if the repetition gives it some merit.

@parados,
Whenever someone makes something up I tend to find a great deal of entertainment value in it. Making something up to defend a position is simply a sign (to me at least) that one has no better argument, and I know from experience the CI has better arguments on this subject, so why make something up?

I think the SC made the right call concerning DOMA. Anyone who can legally marry in a state should be viewed equally by the federal government. It should have been a slam dunk decision in my opinion.

Obviously. It is a predictable part of the end game of Romanticism or the Cult of the Individual.

@CoastalRat,
Thanks for the support. What I said about the decision by the USSC is that we still have the majority of states that outlaws gay marriage.

What has happened with the USSC decision is to override the voters of California on this one subject; a dangerous precedent by telling California voters we do not count - even about equality. If that were so, their decision would make gay marriage legal in ALL STATES. It didn't.

I'm not sure where parados got the idea this was a repetition of my past posts.

I thought this idea was TOTALLY NEW on anything I've written before.
