@neologist,
This thread long ago evolved into a general thread about current events in the LGBT community. It will be a milestone when prop 8 is reversed by the supreme court.

Wow! So many red herrings and straw men. No wonder this thread goes on and on and on and. .

@neologist,
I have met many of those religious counselors and today I look back on them as the most ignorant people I have ever known.

People who have been freed from religious cults know well the damage they do to the soul.

@neologist,
Red herring is quite tasty and straw men keep the birds away. Smile

@RexRed,
The likelihood of finding a counselor with a religious understanding equivalent to my own is slim, roughly 0.1%. I'm talking about one with an understanding of psychology equivalent to my own.

But my feasting on the herring and setting fire to your straw men devastates your arguments.

Wouldn't that be the USSC over-ruling a democratic vote?

@spendius,
What "democratic vote?" The SC is responsible to make sure it cedes all discriminatory laws to be consistent with our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Something you Brits don't seem to understand about the US.

@spendius,
The history of the US is full of discriminatory legislation; many have been overturned, and this country is still struggling to live up to our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

This country still has racial and gender discrimination and homophobia. Those are the people who continue to advocate for discriminatory laws.

Many believe they are following the teachings of the christian god.

But the improvements in civil rights and equality continues to be fought in our government(s). That's all we can hope for.

We still suffer from gender pay gap. That only proves my point about gender discrimination.

Would you kindly explain how something could not harm directly but be able to harm society as you suggest homosexual activity to be doing?

How could it not be harmful to others directly but be in some way detrimental and harmful to society?

@RexRed,
I've been to the pyramids a couple of times, but never "climbed" it. I did visit inside through a very low-narrow tunnel, but that was when I was much younger.
