How about explaining an Obama win this way.
In 2000 we elected a Republican halfwit to the Presidency. In 8 years he managed to navigate the ship of state of our "Once great republic" down a financial black hole that at best will take generations to dig ourselves out of. Rather than elect yet another proponent of the same failed philosophy, we decided not to continue driving down the same dead end street, but instead turn a different direction.

I do find it curious that government grew LESS under Clinton than it did under Bush. Bush has led us down the road to socialism. Obama is my man!

Clinton neutered our military and left us vulnerable, Bush had to respond with what he had and build on what was left.
