are you 100% sure your candidate is going to prevail? I am voting for Obama but not sure of the outcome of the election.

@Bi-Polar Bear,
I'm voting for Palin and hoping McCain quits after four years.

@farmerman,
Really. Is that why the Dumbocrats have proposed to eliminate tax breaks on 401ks?

@cjhsa,
Joe the plumber is blue collar guy who owes back taxes... has liens on his pay for not paying his medical bills and isn't licensed to do what he does. He's enjoying his 15 right now courtesy of two idiots with nothing to constructive to say.
I'm not saying the guys an asshole but he's not special....he's no model citizen..... and no role model for anyone. He's just a guy, and will be a footnote in one VERY small chapter of history soon....completely forgoten.

@Bi-Polar Bear,
I suspect Obama will win, since that's what the polls say. If he does, I'll do my best to give him a chance. I hope he doesn't, but taking the polls at face value, he will.

@Brandon9000,
How America can vote for a muslim (don't care what you say the guy's middle name is Hussein and the muslim world will throw a huge party if he's elected) is beyond comprehension. We should be killing islamofascists, not electing a sympathizer.

@Bi-Polar Bear,
Why? Because you hate people who fight for your rights?

@cjhsa,
you don't do **** but run your yap on a message board and go about your life like any other guy. Fight for my rights my ass. Or are you trying to identify with real soldiers now that you're too old to serve...like your hero Unca Ted? I don't understand your reasoning...at least Ted does it to sell cd's.

@Bi-Polar Bear,
100%? No way.

Still concerned about lots of possibilities. Main one is that Obama is off his peak numbers (might not be anything in particular, just happens), just as he does something pretty risky (the half-hour ad buy). If the off-peak numbers can be linked to the ad (as in, not that they're really linked, but if a semi-credible case can be made for it), then I'm worried that this whole arrogant/ presumptuous narrative will gain a toehold PLUS a whole scrappy McCain comeback not-over-yet narrative.

Not saying I think this WILL happen, but it's scenario #1 in terms of how things could still go bad.

Yes. Obama will win. And it won't even be close.

@sozobe,
Yep.

I actually think that whenever he has come out with a major "let's talk" speech he does very well. My optimum scenario is that he lays low and let's McCain dig out a little, then comes roaring back with the content of the primetime buy which changes all the narratives and carries him through to the 4th. Again, that's optimistic. I've seen him do this kind of thing before, though. Kind of pacing himself, letting McCain think he's really hitting on something with his Joe the Plumber and Obama is a socialist stuff, then whamo! But that's just idle speculation.

And he really doesn't want to buy a plumbing business. He wants to be a country western singer.

I've been kinda nervous about this 30 minute air time too. I hope it goes like freeduck says it might. It is just that after all this time, there really isn't much left to say and if he comes off as just repeating himself at huge cost, I don't know..Maybe it is time to get a few smooth digs in at McCain for a change or would that hurt him?

Still I hope he wins but I am not sure either despite the polls.
