Which is the correct verb to fill in the blank?

There is something wrong with Lynne’s car at the moment so she _______ to work by bus this week.

A) goes

B) went

C) is going

D) was going

A) goes

B) went

C) is going

D) was going

C) would be the most natural/the normal neutral, Tanguatlay.

I initially thought that A) goes would be a possibility but to my mind, it isn't a likely possibility even though we sometimes use present simple for scheduled events. This doesn't seem to fit that scenario. It seems like a strong short term thing and so, is going.

Could also be B) went. If Lynne's car is still unusable, but she has finished her work for the week, went would be the correct answer.
