Yes, subtly. "It's important for us" suggests that the speaker is giving advice or making a suggestion. "It's important to us" suggests that speaker is expressing an already-held personal belief or value.

Thus, the first sentence is saying "We must realize that it is important to save energy." The second sentence is saying "We believe in the importance of saving energy."
