@VIVIDE,
A Planned Resort:
Today's visitors can enjoy many of the same activities. Kāʻanapali was Hawaii's first planned resort and still serves as a model for resorts around the world.

@VIVIDE,
OK.
It says:
Quote:
"Today's visitors can enjoy many of the same activities"

but it does not tell us "the same activities" as WHAT ??

Maybe it says that somewhere else ?

The same activities as when Kāʻanapali was first built.

A Planned Community is one in which there is extensive planning to make it all encompasing, including homes, stores, recreation etc. so that it is like a mini city of its own. I would imagine that a Planned Resort is the same thing. It would contain housing, food, recreation, and things you would need or want so that you do not have to leave the Resort for anything.
