I got hit by a bicycle. Is it my fault?

2 days ago i was driving, on a 2 way street, and i was on the right side of the road. I needed to turn around, so I pulled into a driveway on the right, upon turning into the driveway, a bike was coming towards me, on the bike path. I slammed on my brakes, and she swerved, and hit my mirror and crashed.

@kellie21,
That sounds like your fault. It sounds like you turned into the path of the bike without checking for bike traffic and caused a collision.

@kellie21,
It sounds like an accident.

Democrats look for someone to blame - real people just get on with their lives.

@Robert Gentel,
But, the bike was going the wrong way on a bike path, on a business intersection, and she hit my car as i was stopped, after seeing her coming towards me.

@kellie21,
No, I'm intelligent. It's a feature lacking from most of the A2K members.

You didn't say anything about the bike going the wrong way the first time, and there's no way any of us are going to have the full picture (for example, I don't even know what traffic laws you are inquiring about and whether the biker was even in the wrong to be going the opposite direction on the bike path). So I can only give my opinion and I still think it was your fault because it sounds like you entered the immediate path of the bike and whether you were moving or not at the time doesn't really matter unless you'd been there long enough for it to have just been the biker who didn't see you. It doesn't sound like that because as you said you panicked and slammed the brakes. Sounds like you entered the path of a bike without seeing it and to me that would put you at fault.

But I'm not going to try to convince you, I don't know all the details and that's just my two cents.

@cjhsa,
No, you are stupid and try make every post on this site a soapbox for your gun nut politics.

Republicans and Democrats alike need to access liability in a traffic accident and this simply isn't a political issue at all.

@Robert Gentel,
Ummmm why are you making this about politics? It has nothing to do with politics. Don't talk about politics when you reply to my message that clearly has nothing, whats-so-ever to do with politics. Thanks.

@kellie21,
It is definitely confusing. Robert was telling cj just that about introducing politics into threads. You'll find members here to be a bit fiesty right now about politics.

@Robert Gentel,
You are young and a decent programmer but clueless about personal responsibility. Happy fall anyway.
