@littlek,
That was reported sometime in the last week, other than just an e-mail being sent around.

Here's a youtube video of the event: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLH3icVdXK0&feature=related

@squinney,
The McCain camp has been bragging that Palin enjoyed an 80% approval rating from Alaskans. Is there more recent numbers?

@cicerone imposter,
I did find this post on one of those Palin polls which seems to be lost on most Alaskans or conservatives.

Quote:

People seem to be missing the point about all this. Palin's approval rating as Governor of Alaska is totally irrelevant. She is running for Vice President of the United States, which has a completely different job description (for which she is totally unqualified).

Let me put it another way: the Jiffy Lube down on Main Street has an 80% customer satisfaction rating. That doesn't mean I'm going to trust those guys to do my open heart surgery.

I can't find anything specifically for Alaska, but found this:

Palin's Favorability Ratings Begin to Falter

Quote:
Palin seems to have lost some of her luster. Since Sept. 13, Palin's unfavorables have climbed from 30 percent to 36 percent. Meanwhile, her favorables have slipped from 52 percent to 48 percent. That's a three-day net swing of -10 points, and it leaves her in the Sept. 15 Diageo/Hotline tracking poll tied for the smallest favorability split (+12)** of any of the Final Four. [UPDATE: The Sept. 17 Diageo/Hotline tracking poll shows Palin at 47 percent favorable and 37 percent unfavorable--an even narrower +10 split.] Over the course of a single weekend, in other words, Palin went from being the most popular White House hopeful to the least.

Approval ratings over 80 percent have a tendency to go DOWN. Case in point:

@Debra Law,
Thanks, Debra, that's an "important" find, because it's so difficult to find on Google. Makes you wonder if McCain has any influence on our media and poll-takers...
