@realjohnboy,
Not trying to put too fine a point on this, however, Favre didn't make a lass minute pass . However, Cassell threw a last-second pass which was complete. And, in the OT the game ended with a field goal.

@Ragman,
However, my prediction of Favre throwing a last-minute pick wasn't correct, either.

By the way, a week or so ago we were talking about the Owls from someplace. A high school team Tico or Rockhead follows. The Owls were in the state playoff picture. How is that playing out?
Go Owls!

A gentle nag. Remember to get your picks in on the NFL. Plenty of time.

@realjohnboy,
RJB, it was not pretty, but it was exciting as hell...

Garden Plain put on a miracle finish to remain unbeaten and advance to the Class 3A football semifinals, beating host Scott City 20-17 Friday night.

Trailing 17-6 with 1:50 remaining, Garden Plain was inside the Scott City 5-yard line and failed to score.

Scott City took over but the Owls held and the Beavers had to punt. Jacob Lies blocked the punt and Jacob Puetz fell on the ball for a touchdown with 1:35 remaining.

Garden Plain tried an on-sides kick but failed to recover.

Owl defenders were told to strip the ball, and they did just that on Scott City's second play.

Garden Plain recovered with 58 seconds remaining on the Scott City 45. Puetz hit Antonio Dowdy on a play that went to the 5. Daniel Youngers then scored the winning touchdown with 30 seconds remaining.

Running back Daniel Capul suffered a leg injury in the second quarter and didn't return to the game. He is expected to play in the semifinals.

Good evening to yall! It has been a rather dreary 3 days in the mountains of VA. 3" of rain. I may go to bed after a few games of on-line scrabble and sleep until noon tomorrow.
We are unanimous in picking Miami over Oakland. 19 of the 20 of us have Indy over Houston (Edgar the naysayer), and other 19-1's are Carolina vs Detroit (Region), Arizona against Seattle (Region) and Pittsburgh fighting San Diego (El Stud). I am surprized that only Rockhead chose Denver over Atlanta. I thought that would be more closely divided.
The Chicago-Green Bay game is the most contentious, with 11 of the 20 going for Green Bay. Washington is picked over Dallas by 13-7.

A whole bunch of us disagree with the majority this week by only 1 game. Johnboy, Fbaezer, Ehbeth, Alex and Mysteryman. Cowdoc and Ragman fit in there, also, but they had NE in the Thursday game so are already down one.

And then there is Region. He has already lost on NE and disagrees with the rest of us on 9 of the remaining games. Jespah, also down one, disagrees on 6 of the rest. Go figure what that pair are up to.
