@Rockhead,
Lions should of just tied it up. The referees missed a blatant face masking call on a two point conversion.
About five minutes left. 24-22 Carolina.

There are just a few minutes left in the early NFL games. I wanted to comment on the victory by the Garden Plain Owls. Unbeaten this year, they had to travel from the outskirts of Wichita to Scott City, about as west as you can get. Some 200 miles as the proverbial crow flies.
The Owls came back from a 17-6 deficit with less then 2 minutes to go to win.

Clearly they are a motivated, disciplined bunch of players who have an outstanding coaching staff. Way to go, Owls!

(I wonder if the coach for Scott City wishes he had taken the safety rather then punt from his own goal line).

2002 was the last tied game, I find. This one was a matter of which team could play more ineptly. It came out pretty equally.
So, this Irishman, a Mexican, a redneck from VA and a cowboy from AZ get together in a bar...
Through the early games, Imur, Fbaezer, Johnboy and Rockhead are only wrong on one game each. A bunch of folks are wrong on 2 or 3. Edgar has quietly had a miserable week so far, with 6 wrong. Region is -5.

@Ragman,
But not good enough, Ragman.

So with the early and late games over, there, standing at the top is this redneck from the mountains of Virginia and this Mexican dude. They each only have one game wrong.
They don't like one another.
They differ on both of the remaining two games, which means that, while they snarl at each other, one of the other 8 folks who have only two games wrong will take the week.
Region has 8 games wrong. Edgar has 6.

@Region Philbis,
not if you keep pickin' the Chefs...

the wheels on the bus go round and round.

(in lazy circles around the carcass, as the bus has crashed to the ground)

the 3 hour post game show was rather funeral like...

@realjohnboy,
I like you rjb; the one I can't stand is your smelly palinesque rabid Gringo dog.

And I can't stand them Cowboys either.
Nothing more politically correct than rootin' for the Redskin underdogs.

Of course hillbillies are wannabe cowboys, but they've got mountains instead of plains.

hard as it may be to believe, pittsburgh's 11-10 triumph over sandy ay-go was the first 11-10 game in NFL history...

@Region Philbis,
Yes, true. But, that called-back touchdown by the officials was one more travesty of justice to go down in NFL history, too. Don't you think?

What a strange week #10 is turning out to be!
> The 1st 11-10 game in history, we are told
> The 1st tie in 6 years
> And a very unlikely potential winner this week

With just the Buffalo-Cleveland game to go, that nice RealJohnBoy has just one mis-fire (Atlanta losing to Denver). Osso, Imur and Fbaezer have just 2 wrong.
RJB and Osso pick Buffalo tonight; Fbaezer has Cleveland. RJB wins the week if Buffalo prevails and ties with Fbaezer if Cleveland takes the game. RJB has total points to be scored @ 52; Fbaezer guesses 57. The dividing line is 54.5 points. 54 or fewer points gives the week to RJB while 55 or more makes Fbaezer the winner.

(I have a small bottle of champagne chilling. Sorry to write in the 3rd person. I, the reporter here, was writing about RJB the player).
