Golly gee. I am a dumb redneck from deep in the mountain hollows of Virginia. I ain't ever been nowhere. What is a belly dancer? Does she like dance on her belly? What would that look like? Or does she...?

I'm somewhere in the unfeatured 2.5 hour balance of this show.

All 20 of us have bellied up to the bar in picking the winner of tonight's game. 11 of us are choosing New England while 9 have it going the Jets way.

@ehBeth,
There's some pretty bad belly dancing there along with some who are fairly good. Too bad they didn't feature you and more of the other good ones.

@Foxfyre,
Hopefully the recent Miss Bellydance USA made it onto your fairly good list v your pretty bad list.

@ehBeth,
Probably she did though I don't know what her dance name is. Like I said some of the gals have some good moves and techniques. Actually I was too harsh on the first viewing. Went back and enlarged the screen and all the girls do have decent technique--some much better than others which would be expected--this didn't show up as well on the little bitty youtube screen. So I take back the 'bad'. How long have you been dancing?

@Foxfyre,
I actually found the video quite fascinating, EhBeth. The agility of the dancers is amazing.

@realjohnboy,
Half Time of the NY Jets-New England game: NE played well in the last two minutes, scoring a TD. The score: NYJ: 24 - NE: 13.

@realjohnboy,
Eeek, re the score..

On the belly dancing, I had favorites - wonder which one got the USA title..

A friend took belly dancing years ago and loved it .. didn't study it as much as ehBeth though.

Anyway, I'll look at the video again, to establish my fav, which may have nothing to do with who is technically sharpest.

@ossobuco,
With two and a half years of classes, 3 - 5 hours per week, I am still a novice in the world of belly dance and Egyptian folk dance. I think all of the dancers have videos which are more representative of their work - this was a post-gala sampler. the full dvd is truly about 2.5 hours.

interesting score. hmmm

@realjohnboy,
Strange game last night. Did anyone actually see it? (shown on "NFL Network" only.)

@wandeljw,
Yup, Wandel! I sure did. For once I was on the right side of being able to see this game.

I've got to say unabashedly, I loved the drama of this regular season match. If it should come up for repeat at some point soon on Sports Classic. don't miss it. That last second catch by Randy Moss (dragging his feet to stay in-bounds) and at the same time boxing out out the former -Patriot, Ty Law, who was all over him covering him. Then simultaneously there was that pinpoint throw to the corner of the end zone - an unexpected absolute thrill to see. On so many levels this was pure drama. As the Pats came back from being down 24-6 just after half time, with 18 unanswered points.

Yes, Cassell chalked up 18!!! And more than 400 yrds on his arm..and 500 yds of offense for the game. Favre was nearly 80% completion and I think only one pick. Arguably, Bellicek might have coached his best game yet here. Rookies filled in for veterans and did amazing defense. Don't let the high score fool you.

Even the over-time was damned good. Gotta love Favre, as he kept a lid on his gambler tendencies (somewhat). Jets are a great team..Pats, with Cassell, are worth ther price of admission. The rest of this season in this divison has a bit more drama to it now.

Last night I remembered this post and said to myself: "Hey, I'm nursing an operation in my gums, and I have that normally useless channel on my basic cable package; it'll help me pass the time".
What a game! Classic American football.
Thanks, rjb.

... and I kept thinking: "If Favre was still with the Pack, old Gus would still be whiping himself with his capybara".

@wandeljw,
Thanks, Wandel and Osso.

Had I been able to record it, I'd keep that in my library. Cassell might not have the long-ball capability of Brady but, then again, who does (besides Favre)? NY Jets are one talented team and they're still developing and maturing....err, ah..perhaps even peaking.
