@Rockhead,
Why would you go to a high school game on such a brutal day, RH?

@realjohnboy,
You're close, RJB. We have no way of knowing how many smart-ass write-in votes (Mickey Mouse, Chuck Roast, et al) were thrown out, but the final total was (I think) 3257-0. You can actually view the results at www.lemhicountyidaho.org by following the "Election results" link. Thanks to everybody who was pulling for me. The opposition was virtually invisible in the campaign.

@realjohnboy,
we are ranked #1 in state div. smallville?A ...we've not lost in two years now...

(last years stud is currently starting in the Big 12)

I am like the albatross for playoff games.

(I am riding to the next one, an away game, with the radio announcer to make sure I arrive on time)

congrats to Governor Cowdoc dude...

Hot damn. Everyone is in and it ain't even Sunday yet.
The Thursday night game resulted in 10 red marks and 10 blue marks, as Denver came back in the 4th quarter against Cleveland. Around the water cooler was a lot of anger against the NFL for restricting the TV rights to their own network, which most people don't have and don't want. Greed. Greed.
Evidentally the Cleveland QB is a hot new star and a lot of folks wanted to see him perform.
In Sunday's games we are unanimous in going for Miami over Seattle, Carolina vs Oakland and San Diego against Kansas City. We would be 20-0 in the Jets vs St Louis, except George, nose high in the air, will never pick a team from NY. Region and Miz Cowdoc are the only folks picking San Francisco over Arizona.
We are split 11-9 in two games: Green Bay @ Minnesota and New Orleans @ Atlanta.
Osso smiles and waves. She agrees with the majority on every game. Johnboy, Ragman and the lovely Ehbeth agree with the majority in all but one game.
At the other extreme is Region, who differs from the majority on 7, I say, 7, games, and Miz Cowdoc at 5.

@realjohnboy,
I spose there is no harm there.

my nephew is on the starting 22, but I don't live there.

#1 ranked Garden Plain Owls, 13 and oh so far in 08, undefeated State champs last year.

2 or 3 to go...

@Rockhead,
Isn't Garden Plain just outside Wichita? I don't think it existed when I went to high school in Netawaka and Whiting. By the way, neither of those schools has existed since the '60's. Just dated myself, huh?

@realjohnboy,
I noticed I disagreed with Region on 7 or 8 games, I guess I was counting Cleveland. Lawsy, not to wish you ill, Reege, but I'm crossing my fingers you're not spot on.

Mebbe I'm getting old. I have trouble with instant memorizing re which teams I ended up picking - perhaps because of a certain lack of adamancy re my final choices.

@Rockhead,
I wish 'em well, RH. (I remember when my grade school team was all city, catholic league, whatever they called it. Long time ago, but a nice memory.)

@CowDoc,
GP is an old Catholic town dating back to the turn of the century, with a former cathouse and lots of juicy history.

I live outside the chaos as well, in olde Eagle township.

@Rockhead,
Go, Garden Plain Owls!
I am a bit of a map freak. On the scrabble thread, if my opponent is willing, I find them in my atlas. I am up to 45 countries plus an equal number of U.S. states.
Garden City is about 20 miles due west of Wichita. A river runs near it. A tributary of the Ninnescah.

Being a former Kansan, I can safely say Kansas has a lot of places nobody ever heard of and where nobody ever goes on purpose, but every single one of them is a good place. Smile

(We have some Kansans coming to our house tomorrow, so I may not be around much.)
