Ionus - aren't you mixing things up somewhat? "Not talking" was never a Nazi tactic - the opposite was true, they broadcast propaganda 24/7.
Not at all. Did they engage the Jews in a meaningful dialogoue about what they percieved the problem to be ? Did they lsiten to the Jews or simply put them on ignore ? They were quite happy to discuss with those that had a similar opinion, and they broadcast in a manner that now would be done on a forum as well.

Quote:
Then - and I'm no assiduous reader of PlainOld's posts, au contraire - how can you tell her she's getting frozen out of the conversation? That means "ignored".
This is puzzling....I was replying to famerman...did I tell POM she was getting "frozen out of the conversation" ?

Quote:
Is all we hear about their sex lives true?
I cant remember the last time anyone asked my opinion on sexual matters.....I have forgotten the ins-and-outs of it......unless a dig in the ribs with an elbow and a "damn, is she hot or what" is asking for an opinion.

Quote:
what's the story with your Devonian fishes in your deserts?
Yes, in indignant outrage that a fundamentalist preacher would be proud of, we filled in the water with sand to teach those godless fish a lesson. We are not having that sort of thing here whilst I am in charge.

@reasoning logic,
A feast after butchering an animal involves the whole community but they are segregated according to status. If you are a low ranker, then you are down the end of the line when the meat is handed out. Can you think of a worse way to be told you social status ?

@Ionus,
Yes I agree but it was this part of your quote that I was hoping to get a response to!

Not that I disagree with it as being a reality but it is this part of the quote that I think causes murder and so forth among humans! your quote: { You couldnt get a more structured society.} Maybe I am thinking in ethics and you are speaking in structuralism?

I reject your thesis on this.
Fair enough.

Its inane and full of holes that dont make it worth considering.

Yes you have. You told them that they would never change and the best we could hope for is that they would die soon.

Or just Maybe youre just speaking out your other orifice again
Was it you who was just condemning insults ? Have you changed your mind ?

Quote:
Thats because Im creative, you are not.
Is there a lot of call for creativity in rock identification ?

What passes for a sense of humor for you, is quite predictable and is often lame.
I dont know why you think of yourself as an absolute standard. I am not a student you know.

Quote:
You and spendi just went on a page or so back giving "lessons" to another about how Americans are unable to do this or that and some other crap.
Are you able to navigate a page back and produce it ?

Quote:
Its not xenophobia on your part
Are you saying that anyone who suggests you are xenophobic is themselves xenophobic ? Does that apply to mental illness as well ?

Quote:
we dont need any more attempts at the Ionus history books. Ive already laughed my way through reading your "civil War thoughts" and "Midway dumb luck"
Strange you should mention the Civil War...I was told that only an American can know the history of the Civil War. And anyone who thinks Midway was won by the USA WITHOUT dumb luck is in need of knowledge.

Perhaps you can point out where in the title it says the debate is about and for USA only ? Or is this another example of your xenophobia and racism ?
The "Title" is a head line. Wandels very first post in his thread pretty well summarizes it. The entrance of spendi was a mere attempt at derailing. The topic is as important to several of us as the disappearnace of the BArrier Reef is to many of those in that country whose name shall not be mentioned .

Quote:
Your ability then to refrain and not join us in our insults is truly remarkable, given the first quote above.
Oh NO, mine were not insults, they were objective critiques of your capabilities.

@reasoning logic,
I was comparing the image that I think people have of how peaceful and egalitarian tribal society is, and nothing could be further from the truth. If I walk down a street I can be an equal. Anywhere a person goes in tribal society, they take their family record as well as their record as well as their current status in the tribe with them. Little misdemeanors will result in being spoken to and crimes are punished severely. Murder and other crimes are rare but are dealt with very harshly, usually banishment with a crippling wound (a very slow death in most cases) or being sacrificed outright. The severe structure prevents a lot of crime, something that modern society suffers from and I have often wondered if we need less freedoms, not more.

OK, these are the placoderms I'd like to know about

One of the scariest creatures ever to live in the ocean, this Devonian fish could grow up to 33 feet long, had an armored face, and likely had one of the strongest bites in history

So we should have stopped with that ? No evolution of discussion unless it agrees with your view point and is within a very tight definition of the subject ?

Spendi has repeatedly made reference to the heart of the matter, it is just you either dont know his (sometimes obscure) reference or cant see his point due to intellectual limitations.

Are you aware of anything about geology?

Thats a poor attempt at paraphrasing a line. I said that someone who was a gun nut was all used up and would die anyway so his views werent immutable. I think you need to be better trained in comp.The line comes out of Larry Mcmurtry as an argument about a law in the west. As far as civil war. I know that there are some scholars of the war who are not US ers. ALas, you are not one of them.
As far as Midawy, youve made your opinion (baseless as it was) quite clear.
This is about evolution and primarily its handling in education and prinipally in the US, although the same troubles are beginning to affect other countries, and these examples had been presented at some length. Your contributions have been, for the most part, a silly series of diversions.

@High Seas,
Im only guessing here, but the placoderms were probably carrying "pups" and were ovoviviporous , like "the present day sharks and latemerians or the fossil latemeria Undina .

I think that the ovoviviparity lest us know that they were divided into boys and girls. However, certain worms are Hermaphrodites and they have sex with different segments on the same organism.
Im only guessing here but maybe they found a bacula, which in many lower animals, the males penis is actually a bone that only peeks out to the world during copuaqtion. Its probably one of these two.

Was this a SCi American or a newsweek article?

You said they would be dead soon and insinuated that would be a good thing. I suggest you stop your usual political maneuvering to get out of a hole you dug.

Didn't make any comments about how one would have to be a citizen of the Americas to know about the Civil War ? Are you sure ?

Your xenophobia is showing again. Any measure of the relative forces at Midway makes very clear the Japanese should have won. The USA lucked through.

My contributions, like when you introduced things from other threads in the hope some of your cronies would sneer at me ......tell me about a silly series of diversions again ?
